Hey OB crew,
I have an EarthRoamer that I want to replace the rear bumper on that has a single 6ft slide-out aluminum storage box. I want to replace that with a new custom bumper that has double swing-out aluminum boxes. They switched to split boxes after we purchased ours and they don’t want to...
We just returned from exploring the El Camino Del Diablo trail with some friends that runs 160 miles from Yuma to Ajo Arizona. This trail runs through some of the most remote and arid regions of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. The trail isn’t technical but it was nice to run it with three of...
I think @McGrizzly also organized one at Hop Dogma Brewery on Capistrano in Half Moon Bay that was great. There is a large parking lot there and good craft brews for an afternoon meetup. We would be up for that on Oct 5th.

We took the ER up to Bald Mountain in the Sierras for an overnight. The trail is easy and the views are spectacular! The southern entrance from Dinkey Creek is a little tight for our rig (two off camber tree pinches), but the northern entrance is an easy short drive to this great spot. I...
Fozzy325,
Like anything else...it depends on what you plan to do. For ultimate flexibility, I would recommend any well built hard sided camper (including semi-hard side pop ups) on a capable 4x4 truck that isn’t overloaded with good suspension. It will give you something that is easy to drive...
Gustavo...Thanks for the great info on places to see in the area! I will check them out on the web. We are always interested in anything to do with the natural world and wildlife of any kind. We will be in a self contained hard sided camper and plan to remote camp most of the time...
Looks like a great trip. How much of it was dirt tracks versus paved highway? Any must see places more towards the west coast of Chile? I am keeping a bucket list of places to check out when we do the panam in a few years.
Jason
It was great to meet many of you today! Thanks for putting it together Ryan...and for ordering up the perfect weather! I need to get in and try the beer at the next one...can’t believe I missed out on that.
Yes...I agree the North Rim GC is a great place to explore. We did a trip there after the Overland Expo West last year and camped at Point Sublime (photo) and Fire Point. It has trails for any rig and any experience level. The views are spectacular and the crowds are non-existent...at least...
We have a pretty active EarthRoamer forum to share trail information, but I am always looking for other recommendations online. I imagine you have your own EarthCruiser forum as well. I have talked with a number of EC owners over the last few years at the Overland Expo West, but I don't think...
Hello Brent...Jason here from California Bay Area. I was pleased to find another OB member with a big rig. I haven't seen too many postings on the forum from big rig owners. It is difficult to read some of the trail recommendations from OB members and know whether it is a good trail for...
I don't want to get into a big debate about it because nothing will be resolved. I have friends and family that enjoy hunting and they are good people, but it doesn't mean that I don't give them grief about it and try to get them to try hunting and shooting with cameras instead of guns. I just...
Is anyone coming on Saturday to the Meet & Greet that went on the recent trip to Bald Mountain? I would like to get some recent trail condition intel for a planned trip there over Thanksgiving weekend. See you Saturday
If you are in Moab and looking for easy to moderate trails to do with great views and manageable day trip driving times...here are a few suggestions with some sample images. I can recommend Chicken Corners, Beef Basin and Shafer Switchbacks. If I had to do it again...I would add Lathrop Canyon...
We had a great 8 day trip to Moab in September. We didn't do anything too difficult...but spectacular scenery and enough steep trails with cliffs and some nice rock ledges to keep it interesting. We did Chicken Corners, Beef Basin and Shafer Switchbacks. We were going to add Lathrop Canyon...
Rujack...sorry I don't have any info that far south, but for what its worth. We have done a couple trips to baja over spring break with our two teenage boys. We only went as far as the southern end of Bahia de Concepcion, so not even to Loreto and 12 days each trip was not long enough. We did...
