Hello, We will be camping at Alabama Hills. I'm trying to think of an off-road side trip that can be done in 4 hours. Originally, I was going to do Mazourka Peak but all my calculations have that as a 6 hour trip at 15 miles per hour off-road (including lunch, airing down/up, pics at mines)...
You can't go wrong with either. Old Mojave Road appears to be closer to JT. As somebody else said, Anza/Octillo Wells is great place to explore and it's extremely close to JT.
