20 mpg on the trip computer or hand calculated? I’m getting 19-20 on the computer but 17 hand calculated and 13 towing. My truck is a Cummins on 35-12.5-17s.
be careful with .357 in a lever gun. The longer barrel will push muzzle velocity into the 1600fps rang. Most defensive JHP are not designed to perform at that speed and tend to over expand and under penetrate. Hard cast wadcutters are solid option. Also, many .357 lever gats have trouble...
Putting weight in the bed definitely smooths out the ride. I alway carry about 500 pounds of tools in the bed of my truck. Also I air down my tires to 55 front and 45 rear and that also makes a difference. If your in south Florida you can take a ride in my truck. Maybe by then I’ll have Thurens...
Thurens website has some very helpful information about understanding the Ram suspension. Due to the geometry involved, 2-3 inches seems to be the sweet spot on these trucks.
There is two ways to get the desired height, coils and spacers. My understanding of the AEV lift is that it is a very...
I’m running the bilstein 5162 2.3 inch front springs with 5160 shocks front and rear. I’m very pleased with the ride. Shop around and you can get the springs and shocks for under 1k which is a great buy for reservoir shocks.
The 5100 stocks are pretty stiff but they are an even cheaper option.
Where did you mount the third battery?
It seems like a goal zero plugged into a 12v charger would be the easiest way to get power. I don’t know what a battery isolators costs.
As long as you don’t leave the drawer open, you will be fine. I’ve had mine since January and never got water in the drawers from rain, or washing with a hose. You might get a little bit in the ammo boxes, but drill a drain hole in them before installing in the bed and you can just hose them out.
Trailer mounting isn’t and option. I tow boats, not those little off-road overland trailers. I pull the bass boat in my profile pic all over the southeast. I also have a center console I charter in south Florida. So the spare need to stay on the truck.
I did mention rehearing yes. I say I will...
I had a Roll ‘n Lock in my old truck, now I have a Decked system in my new truck. The rollin lock was the best I could do because at the time I need to haul a gooseneck horse trailer. It leaked and eventually didn’t stay all the way closed and locked. It would come partially open if I hit a...
I was at ONF I couple weeks ago. It was a little hot during the day. If you just run trails during the day, you can stay in AC and the set up camp at dusk when it’s cooler.
