If you dont feel you need a lift to go the places you want to, I would suggest a nice set of AT tires and a VERY nice set of shocks. Nothing will change the ride and handling of a vehicle like a set of good shocks.
Beyond that, just run it till you fond something that you really want/need.
The Alpine loop is about 60 miles and takes the better part of a day. There is no cell service over most of the route but I doubt you will be on the trail alone. Your rig will have no trouble completing the trails... if its open. We have had a LOT of snow this year and the trails might not be...
I run Brakeperformance.com rotors and pads on my vehicles. They have a good warranty(not that I have ever needed it) and good quality product for the money. I have run them on everything from a JKU to a Dodge 2500 diesel that towed a heavy trailer everywhere it went. My F150 is about to get a...
Welcome to OB!! Lots of great people and loads of knowledge here.
Check out the vehicle build section for ideas on what you can do to your current Taco or inspiration on what to purchase next.
OME is a quality kit that will last you for years.
If you wanted to step up a little and go to a coil over shock in the front instead of struts, Look at the ICON Vehicle Dynamics systems. They start with an adjustable/rebuildable coil over shock up front and 2.0" Aluminum smooth bodied shocks...
Using spacers is not a problem. Purchase spacers that are lug-centric and not hub-centric. Just make sure to check/torque your spacers after the first 50 miles and then every season or 5000 miles.
Nothing quite says nightmare like a 7 tire rotation on an AWD vehicle...Ever seen a tire tech...

Take a look at the Frontrunner Outfitters Jeep JKU racks. The mount securely to the rollcage(shorter uprights, less deflection).
The Frontrunner racks are good for 600lbs which is more than enough for a RTT.
Dont hold your breath waiting for the confirmation email from NPS. The auto-reply system was down the last time I pulled a permit and they had no idea when it was coming back... the ranger I spoke to made it sounds like it had already been down for quite a while. You may just want to call the...
My current offroad rig is a 2012 Jeep JKU Sport....which is nothing short than a Cadillac offroad with very few mods. I have had a half dozen different 4wd vehicles in the past 10 years ranging from a 450hp Tube chassis Ultra4 race buggy to a bone stock 2015 F150 parts runner/National Park tourer.
Glad to hear you have a track bar already... big step in the right direction. When you get the balljoints replaced, have the shop weld on some Inner-C gussets. The JK inner C's are prone to bending under hard use and the best time to reinforce them is with the balljoints out. Its just good...
If the vehicle was offered in a 4wd version from the factory... buy it. If it was only offered in a 2wd version and you really need that exact vehicle to be 4wd, then convert it.
Last fall WARN came out with its new VR series of entry level/standard duty winches. They include a 8k, 10k and 12k models and are available with and without synthetic line.
The best part about these new winches is the elimination of solenoids in the control pack. The have gone to an...
