I did the install on my 2014 DC, super easy and straight forward. The hardest part was cutting the rubber weather stripping (which wasn't hard at all). The whole thing just bolts together and then bolts onto the roof.

I've looked into this before but didn't want to spend the money. I ended up using a 2 gallon sprayer from Home Depot and attached a sink sprayer to the end of the hose. All in all. 2 gallons of pressurized water for less than $30. Edit: This is basically what I made:

I started with the Midland but didnt like how bulky it felt in my hands. I ended up switching to the Cobra and loving it. Since you don't want to hard wire anything, I'd say just go with the Midland + magnetic antenna on the roof. If you need range, then HAM is the way to go. You could just...

Someone on the tacoma world forums did a review on how well the coolers kept ice. the 26qt held ice for 3.5 days while the 73qt held it for 7 days with "normal use" aka removing drinks, adding new drinks, etc...

I have an Tepui Ayer and love it. Regardless, I've seen plenty of support from both CVT and Tepui on various forums and both companies seem quick to respond and resolve any issues. I know both companies are active on the tacomaworld forums.
