I haven't even thought about that. I wonder if there would be way to rig a mount of some sort that comes out from under the hood like some of the light mounts but towards the front obviously. You've got me thinking now...
All pro off road sliders or something that will support the weight of the vehicle. You'll get nice suspension on the trd pro already. Other than sliders I tend to wait and see what I need the most and will find more useful. I bought a rooftop tent and AllPro apex rack for my Tacoma because I...
What he said. They aren't officially rated to tow but they certainly will hold up to the task. I installed the Slee Shortbus front bumper today and it's very well built and looks great.
Apparently our overland vehicle budgets are vastly different. :)
That Landcruiser will make a very nice overland rig though. Expedition overland used one for their most recent season. Check them out on YouTube if you haven't already come across them.
I shopped around but everyone seems to have them at $299. I ordered the from ok4wd.com because I keep seeing them pop up on things I watch so it seems like they really support the overlanding community. They also have free shipping and 5% off if you sign up for their email list. Mine endedup...
I ordered and installed a 4 gallon and two 2 gallon (1 water/1 gas) Rotopax. I also ordered a set of maxtrax but have not received them yet. On Thursday or Friday I'm purchasing a set of Goodyear Duratraks for the Tacoma and a set of Hankook all terrain tires (with a new spare) for my...
Yeah Plano certainly isn't a hot spot for off road but it is certainly a hot spot for Land Rovers or Range Rovers (I still don't know the difference) that have never been dirty much less been off road. The state parks are nice but yes you're right next to someone else and they're all paved...
I considered using the locking rotopax mounts but I've read a lot of negative stuff about them. I wonder if someone could still twist them loose if they tried hard enough and used whatever tools necessary.
I'm thinking of different methods of locking them. The obvious is a cable which I...
I finally installed mine yesterday and I will only keep them on when going on trips. I can't afford to keep replacing them after people steal them. I am going to try some creative ways to lock them on though.
The coolant used in the air conditioner.
I'll add that 92 is my favorite year model of the landcruiser. The only reason is because I own one and of course owe nothing on it. :)
I'm glad I noticed this on here. I am not on facebook anymore so I don't get notifications from the group. I went last year and will go again for sure! I'll send my money today for two registrations and (hopefully) shirts.
Edit: money sent!
I'll buy more shirts if you end up with extras...
Like Mike Wesner a few posts back, I installed my hot water system in my trailer. I have a propane tank and water system already installed inside the trailer. This thing works surprisingly well. It was on amazon for $129 and is the Camplux 6l model. I also (finally) installed new 6 lug hubs...
I have a dobinsons lift and awning on 80 series which are both great quality. This says nothing about their fridge but as a company they seem to make/sell quality items. I do have an arb 50l fridge and love it. Even in the summer in Texas I have to be careful not to freeze our food and...
I've got the same truck. I've really enjoyed it in the short time I've had it. The first thing I purchased for mine was all pro off road sliders and modular rack for the bed. I have my awning and rtt mounted to it. We're in very similar situations in that I have an old trailer that I...
I like the slide-out system you're building. I'm definitely looking at making slide out drawers and a tray for my trailer and probably my landcruiser too at some point. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the build and what ideas I can steal from you. :)
