I do both. I have a trailer that I pull with my Tacoma. Usually we will set up the trailer and then go do whatever we're going to do. If nothing else, it helps with my fuel mileage to leave the trailer somewhere. When we're done messing around we come back and the roof top tent is already...
I too keep my fridge in the truck so I can have it available as we drive around. I have a rack system for my rtt to be mounted on my truck but we generally will set up the tent and trailer and drive around in the truck. (Base camping basically.) It's nice to come back after being out all day...
I used to prefer a partially serrated blade on a folder but my preference changed many years ago. Even more recently I decided to quit buying cheap stuff and buy things right the first time. This includes knives. I have an esee 6, 3, cr 2.5, and pr4. All are straight edge and absolutely awesome.
Rent a cabin so it sounds more "outdoorsy". Seriously though I agree with the comments above. Create your own definition of overlanding or adventure travel or whatever. Do whatever you want not what some stranger on the internet says is the right thing to do.
It's about vehicle dependent...
I like the idea but I live at Possum Kingdom lake west of ft. Worth so it's a long drive into town for me. If my schedule allows it we would come over though.
When you enter from marathon on 385 there's a small ranger station you can check-in at however they closed at 5 or so when we went a few months ago. You can look on the website to be sure of course. (There are outside bathrooms there just so you know.) Don't let the phrase "hey we're here"...
It "locks" the front and rear axle together so they spin evenly vs being independent of each other. When you put it in 4 low it locks it automatically. The 91 and 92 have a switch to lock or unlock it the 93-97 do not. Others might be able to expand on that but that's my basic understanding of...
Thank you. It really is a nice rig . i don't want to sell it but that money could be put to better use in other places. It has 209k miles. It has the center locker but not the front and rear. They weren't available on the 91 and 92 models. That's what ARB lockers are for. Lol
No responses at all? I would welcome any feedback even if you aren't interested in buying. This is a great community with very knowledgeable folks which is why I posted here first.
I have decided to sell the Land Cruiser. I welcome any input about price, description, or whatever else. This truck is really nice but I don't have the time or money to use it as it could be. I know someone out there will provide it a good home and finish building it up. Not sure about the...
4 or 5 days is a good amount of time to check things out. You don't really need a lot of experience for the national park. The roads are pretty mild. The state park is a bit more "primitive" and open for exploration and dispersed camping. Several folks on the forum have discussed the big...
