last year I talked with a guy from Louisiana that bought one that was camping at a public camp ground, his comment was nice trailer, zero room barely fits two, one semi comfortably. He stated their was too many RV type appliances that draws a lot of amps on 12v to use offgrid or dispersed...
Captain Chaos this is the smoker I take with us on our trips, Weber Smokey Mountain 18 otherwise know as bullet or WSM 18. I like this style for "me" because it large enough to BBQ cook enough meats for 2 family's or Sally & I. like the idea too it breaks down to 3 pieces w\o no tools to haul it...
last few I bought @ Sam's Club in Little Rock ( mid Nov. 2018) was $42. & some change ea. for 18lbs Brisket. But we make our bi annual run to Little Rock from the mountains to picked up other meats too, 4 8lb pork butts, 6 packages of pork rib tips, couple packs of 2" thick cut pork chops...
the mattress we replaced in our Smittybilt RTT is Exped Duo Mega Mat 10 (queen size) XL XW self inflating. This mattress holds a R insulation value for cold weather. I find this mattress to be as comfortable as my home tempurpedic mattress & warm in winter early spring trips, it's costly...
I run air bags on my GMC truck for years, but I feel it has it's limitations on offroading. The wife & I aren't extreme offroaders or rock climbers. I drive 2000 GMC Z71 1\2 ton Extended Cab stock 5.3 L w\ performance built 4L60E transmission, rear end ratio 3.73. suspension stock height...
when I was building my adventure trailer I though about air bags & independent trailing arms type suspension, what changed my decision was leaky or damage bags on the trail. I like the concept & it's advantages but I ended up idler axle with leaf springs & shocks.
started with new tool box, 2 4" circular vents & 55watt Powermax 3 stage 110 to 12v Converter.
I still need to mount the converter to the tool box & run the 8 ga. cable & install the Anderson Connectors (which will plug in to a out on the tongue box of my adventure trailer which those leads...
When I built our adventure trailer the power source for the 12volt gear is off grid "solar" which I have been happy with.
But here's the issue with solar, you need sun light to charge the battery or batteries, so during the late sp...ring thru summer months in early fall, here in Arkansas the...
I built my adventure trailer ground up. One concern was insuring it even though it is in insured while in tow. Theft's of adventure trailers are up & I keep on hearing about these on line.
I kept a build log sheet on every item I used in the build & gear purchased (camping) that's in the...
I use these, are they are the best. http://theperfectdraft.com/
I'm on their Testimonials

“I use manual mode to get my fire stoked at 1st, then I plug in the temp probe and set to auto mode to keep & maintain my temperature in the cooking chamber. The Perfect Draft: BBQ Blower is a...
thanks I had that built in Texas, pit only. It sits on a Northern Tool 40"x48" trailer with 1\4" aluminum plate floor & built the aluminum plate shelf. It has a wood box made of expanded metal & I" angle iron up front. The blower system for the firebox is thermostatically controlled, you set...
I make my own rubs, I have one for beef, pork, chicken & venison. A good thick wall cooker makes the BBQ. Those thin metal tin cans can't hold the heat like a well built thick wall cooker that seals w\o smoke leaking. That is loss heat & longer cook time.
I have a disperse camper friend that has his big Ford 250 4x4 winch set up with front receiver hitch w\ Anderson quick disconnects. His set up sits pretty low to the ground, but he only mounts it when he's in need for it, the rest of the time it sits in under the rear seat of his truck...
I've cooked lots of beef brisket "BBQ smoked" in thick metal cookers. Cook times, depends on pit temperature, how large the piece your cooking, or if the brisket has the point on it. Type of fuel (wood) you use will have a factor on the pit temperatures as of some woods burn hotter than others...
the wife & I wrote a few outdoor cookbooks on wildgame cooking. We wrote these cookbooks to be used in deer hunting or hunting camps.
We've came up with a quite few new recipes modifying old classic's too. The other photo is a rendition of a old classic pork taco made into a burger using wildhog...
