So, just to re-ask a question from earlier, if I upgrade my axle shafts to 29 and 30 spline, I'm assuming I'll need to change the spider gears to match right? I feel like that's a silly question, but I've been looking around and I can't find any spider gears in the higher splines for my axles...
Thanks for the feedback guys. It seems an actual fridge will be the better option. I had a friend trying to convince me to get the powerchill because it's cheaper, if it won't stand up against the heat then no thanks lol.
Does anyone have experience with the Coleman Powerchill electric cooler? It's essentially a fridge but significantly cheaper than the ARB fridge. From what I can find though, the reviews are pretty mixed. Anyone used it before? Would you recommend it over the ARB fridge?
Thanks for all that info. That helps me put into perspective what I should expect to need.
The axle shafts and u-joints are definitely on the list, however I hadn't considered re-gearing again. I was thinking that a 4.10 ratio would be just fine on 33s, but now looking at the ratio charts, it...
Okay cool, so just to make sure I understand. If I get an ARB, it will replace the carrier, therefore allowing me to get 29 spline shafts, so long as the ARB is for 29 splines. The ARB is what I was planning on getting and I found some Yukon shafts, so from what I understand, I should be all...
So a couple of questions with that.
1) By changing the axle shafts to a different spline, will I have to make any changes to the carrier or spider gears or anything like that? Or should everything still match up?
2) You said that the carrier is what matters. What do you exactly mean by that...
I like that mentality man. In my opinion, that's what's important. Adventure and new experiences. That's why I love overlanding. What branch of service were you in?
That's really unfortunate that you aren't able to get the official GPS files. I wonder whats going on that would be causing an issue. I'd imagine with maps, charts, and GPS files, you hopefully won't have much to worry about though.
I hope this reply doesn't get to you too late. I was actually just on the Trans American Trail website checking things out to possibly plan a trip for myself in the future and there is an Advisory about GPS Kevin. I guess people have been getting gps tracks from there that aren't the official...
My IG is @broseph_76. I mostly just post day to day things. Sadly haven't been adventuring for a while since I'm living and working out of the country.
