Is it a mistake to add an ARB air locker to a Cherokee XJ C8.25 axle??

The 8.25 is a spanner nut axle so simply installing the locker without a regear is a simple job. An XJ is an amazingly capable platform and I loved my 98. The sweet spot is 2.5-3" of lift IMO. 31s are lighter and more readily available than 32s and at these low lifts stock wheels fit with just...

Verify "watch thread" is selected then go to your watched threads and make sure that "and receive email" is selected for this thread. You can just click unwatch then watch thread again and make sure to select "receive emails". We've had this trouble before.

Thoughts on swapping to a smaller tire size

My comment was more about a small shop in Nowhere, USA possibly having a 285 on the shelf vs the 255. Not so much that there aren't as many 255s made.

Thoughts on swapping to a smaller tire size

Those look like a slightly tighter pattern MT than something like a KM3 or other light truck tire. You may find some of the common MTs in a lighter load range but I've been running Load Range E tires on small to medium SUVs for about 15 years and I don't have any complaints.

    beginning ham radio

The inexpensive little radios are OK. I have one of the BTech 25x4 radios setup as a go box or camp radio. I do not personally like a menu driven squelch because you run into low signals and you're digging through the menu trying to open it up whereas with a knob, it's a simple twist and you...

Thoughts on swapping to a smaller tire size

I did the two sets of tires thing before. I always had the wrong set on... With my Xterra, I opted for a milder AT vs the MT and HT combo I had for my Cherokee. I've been exceptionally happy and I always have my offroad tires on. My ATs have been excellent on trips (over 30k on them as of this...

    Anyone using APRS?

I've been working with this setup recently and the new XE seems to put APRSDroid to sleep. I'm going to have to try BCN again and see if it's a new software issue or an issue with my tablet.

    Communications Questions....

10m rigs are sold to give high power, low quality radios to CBers. They are legal on Ham bands because as hams, we are expected to maintain the quality and power outputs of our equipment. We can repurpose other radios to the ham bands because our licensing requirements should make us...

It is a really great site! The girls and I didn't have our gear or we would have stayed. Brian is out there tonight. There's a good bit of room at that site and another very similar one not far from it. We were talking about doing a hammocking trip out there. "Hammock-con" was what Brian was...
