Just another week in the Ozarks

Thanks zgfiredude There are a lot of hidden gems in the Ozarks. I find something new every time. I was on a mission this time to get to an old Indian cave dwelling that has a bunch of pictographs and petroglyphs. Unfortunately I was I was unable to reach it due to road washouts.

Just another week in the Ozarks

Its been quite awhile since I posted a trip report so I figured I would post about my latest trip. I spent another week wandering around the Ozarks in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. Spent time on the First Nations trail, the Ozark Overland Adventure trail, the TAT, and did a bunch of...

    Shovels and Axes

That’s what I did on my shovel. I’m to old for the fold up version and need a full size. I spent the extra cash and got an American made axe. I believe it was from Council Tools

US Southeast Couple of days in the Ouachitas in the CJ5.

Looks like a good time man. Nice pictures. Jeep looks like it’s coming together nicely too! Ive camped in that shelter before many years ago when I hiked the ONRT. I remember there being quite a few along the trail. About every 12-15 miles if I remember correctly.

    XBull winches

Can’t speak to that particular model, but the one I have I got in 2016 and still works great. Mine is a 13,000 lb with synthetic rope and 2 remotes. My remotes however, take an unusual battery that is difficult to find at times.

Need some help near blowing rock or Asheville

Some basics. 2 things I’ve experienced on my 4runner were the rear door not fully closing even though it looked like it was, and the rear wiper was out of its resting cradle. Both will cause the window not to work. Can you tell if it is,still in the window guides?

Enchanted Rockies Trail in the winter

I can’t speak for how it would be in the winter because I did it in the fall. But I can tell you there is a real bad stretch of trail just north of interstate 25. I headed south from Colorado, the ERT used to go along forest road 18 to interstate 25. That section is now closed and the only...
