Propane stoves are permitted, you will need a CAL Fire permit for any gas stove or gas lantern's. No campfires outside developed campsites. We are not in a developed site so no wood fires.

Propane stoves are allowed, you still need the Cal Fire permit to use any gas stoves or lamps. The ban is for fire out side developed campsites, we will not be in a developed or supported camp

Fire Restrictions - No Open camp Fires
Forest Order 16-2020-08, prohibits campfires outside of open, developed forest recreation sites. Only liquid/gel stoves with an on/off switch are permitted. The fire restrictions are in effect for all elevations on the forest, including wilderness...

A 13.8 mile moderately rated point-to-point trail located near Arnold - Bear Valley CA off HWY 4.

Usal Road (Mendocino Country Rd 431) is 13 miles north of Westport or about 14.7 ish miles southwest of Legget CA on Highway 1. We will be going in from Legget off HWY 101.
The turn off is extremely easy to miss so it is recommended to use your odometer to gauge how close you are to Usal Road...
