You could contact a local ham club if you can not find anybody on here. I am relatively new to being a ham and I only have a handheld. :(

Not sure Black Bear is open this early in the season; I would contact the local BLM office and find out before you drive all the way down there from Denver.

I am interested in exploring the Northwest part of the state.
I probably won't be able to do a week but can do a multiday trip.
I was in Ouray 3 times last year, and my 4x4 club trip is there this year. It is an excellent place, but there is a lot more to see.
Most likely I will have x2...
Photos look good to me, I immediately recognized Red Cone one way descent. I made it up and down Red Cone and after a night of camping went on to Radical Jeep Hill (39.534504, -105.855909) in a stock 2016 JKUR. :)
Depending on what month you roll into CO, a lot of the trails are closed for spring runoff.
If you have never been to Rocky Mountain National Park, I would say it's worth seeing at a minimum ounce in your life. I have taken the wife (hates camping) and x2 5 year olds & 2 years old and had fun...

I am very glad to hear that your story has a happy ending. Congratulations on the getting married.
I was with an overlanding group and we stopped for lunch at the Ophir trailhead. While we were eating lunch a bunch of emergency vehicles went screaming up the trail. After an hour they reopened...
How did you accomplish that? I was on Ophir at the end of June and drove by a forrest green Vehicle that had gone off the road on the east side of Ophir Pass.
No problem Jake. I meet you at the rock pile on the driving course at Overland West and just happened to be standing to your right when you opened your member emblem.
My five year old got a kick out of seeing us on your video (even though it was in time laps mod). :)
I am driving a JKU. I usually find my self north of I-70 for day trips. I like a lot of spots for camping, wheeling. I have the exploring bug and like to find new places.
A month ago I joined up with a group out of Ohio that was on a Overlanding trip through Ouray, CO, Monument, AZ, Sierra...
I am in Dacono and have two five year olds and a two year old.
At a minimum I try and do a day trail every weekend throughout the summer.
One item I would suggest looking into are portable DVD players, for long road trips with young ones. It will help you keep your sanity. [emoji6]

I like Rollins Pass and the history of the trail. Located south west of Nederland Colorado, west of Rollinsville. The only catch is Needle Eye tunnel is closed so you can't drive over, but you can Drive up the westside from Winter Park on a separate trip.
I hope one day enough people put...
