Good news, it's not a Dodge! BTW, I have the same Toyos on my Silverado 2500. I like them a lot, wear pretty well and aren't loud 'til about half tread life. Mine are getting down there and are starting to get rather loud.

That build-out is perfect! I really want to do something like that with my WJ. I don't have back-seat passengers, or really intend to but having at least a 3rd seat for unplanned requirements is nice. Plus, if you have a sleeping platform having that seat to get in, take your boots off, etc...
Kinetic ropes, not straps. There are a zillion brands now, I have one from Masterpull that I use for recovering larger vehicles (I'm talking 30-40k lbs RVs stuck in the sand when I go to Glamis) and a smaller one that I think is a Bubba Rope that I carry for trucks 'n Jeeps and such. A kinetic...
I just got the JetBoil MiniMo. I've put off getting one because I'm not actually backpacking, so I tend to not worry about space so much. Of course the result of that is I always have way too much stuff with me and manage to fill up considerably sized vehicles for just my crap. Also with the...
Lots of great info there! I haven't run Fordyce in my own rig, not sure I will. IMHO it's a loooooot harder than The Rubicon, if you're doing all the Winch Hills. But yes, when I do The Rubicon I'll document it for sure.
Yup, just my opinion... and you know what they say about opinions...

Truck gets dropped off next weekend for the SAS. I had been debating back and forth about tires. My plan was to run a 37x13.5-17" Toyo Open Country M/T (same make/model tire I have now). The more I thought about it though, the more an A/T makes more sense for the actual use case of the truck...
Which, with a little luck, I'll be doing later this year in my WJ. Probably take 3 days, 2 nights to do it... so "Overlanding" by definition, and most people would consider the Rubicon Trail a legit "Off Road" trail (a lot of people call it the hardest trail in the West, or even US, but anybody...
I suppose not everyone will agree, but I like it that way so as I scroll through the thread I see all the pics w/o having to click on each one (or click and swipe through them). But, that's just my $0.02 and with inflation these days it ain't worth much! ;)

Awesome Bronco! I grew up going to Pismo, lots of great times and great stories (and some not-so-great-times too). We did some stupid things with my buddy's '95 Bronco back in the day:

Mojave would be great, it sits a bit higher (IIRC 1" higher front, same rear) than a Rubicon and clears 35"s nicely stock. It also has the internal bypass shocks and the hydraulic bumps which make it nice for faster running on washboard roads and such. It only has the locker in the rear, not...
Added another accessory... Overlanding is like Barbies for old fat guys! I got the Zero Declination "drop tent" with their mounting kit for the FWC. The mounting kit is really just hardware to allow you to mount it with 3 holes through the side of your camper (always fun putting holes in a...
That's all fine and well, and I'm perfectly aware of R-value. My point is you said you'd pick a R-value of 4.5 or above for "frosty winter conditions." Take a look at Thermarest's line: Therm-A-Rest Sleeping Pad R-Value Rankings | Therm-A-Rest Blog Nearly any of them people would use for...
Looking forward to watching your VLOGs. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable even in obscure non-North American market vehicles, and I had to Google Iveco. It looks like yours would be after the Ford Trucks merger, right? What is the drivetrain in it? Does it use many Ford parts?

Interesting you find the self-inflating mats are a disadvantage in the cold. Therm-a-rest's name literally comes from its thermal insulating properties.
