@rmerron-How about SOUTHERN California??? Haha. Any chance you guys will make it to OTG? I know it's far for you. I still have a cigar left from the expo that we were supposed to smoke.
@chris90 -It's a valid question. Speaking for myself, I tend to camp alone in some remote places and I like the security of knowing I can defend myself against animal or human predators. Aside from coyotes and sometimes bears, I'm a little more concerned about the people that have removed...
I'll add to to the craziness. A couple years ago I was with my son camping west of Death Valley at a location called Papoose Flats. Alone and setting up in the valley near a rock outcropping, 'something' would not let us build a fire. It would smoke and smolder but no flame. I even resorted to...
@expeditionnorth there was no lecturing intended regarding the use of pepper spray. That paragraph was added for those unable to carry or uncomfortable carrying a firearm. As a 30 plus year LEO (Retired) who carried pepper (OC) spray and also mace back in the day, I can say its a good non lethal...
@Lassen10463 thank you for reading my article and for the feedback. Without repeating much of what has already been written, I’ll address the points you brought up. Since I’m writing this in California, I’ll start with California law first;
VC 25610. “Section 25400 shall not be construed to...
You guys are welcome to work ours for a percentage, haha. Although it's pretty much played out, it's awesome just being out there. I'll let you know when we go and maybe we can meet up.
@Northern_XS @stoney126 - Here's a coincidence, my brother and I have a gold claim 20 minutes from LaPorte we try to get to a couple times a year. We usually stay at a camp ground at Little Grass Valley reservoir. Been to Howland Flat and Poker Flat many many times. Real creepy cemetery there too.
Hey all, I just found this thread and looks like I missed the recent meet up. I'm in Culver City ( west Los Angeles area ) and I'm good for future meets.
Hey Ralph, I just looked it up and it looks like it
Hey Ralph, it looks like you can get a complete system or pick and choose some options. The basic service is $49 and premium, which I'm sure you need for gps etc, is $119. I could probably save by forgoing the remote start. Is there a reason...
Interesting product. Since I have a 2015 JKU, it already has the ignition disabler. My big concern is losing aftermarket stuff I have on or in the rig. I'd like to know if someone breaks the glass or is climbing on it to get my stuff.
Is anyone using an aftermarket anti theft alarm system? A recent camping trip and conversation with @rmerron got me thinking that maybe the factory ignition disabler, that comes with most newer cars, isn't enough. Most of us put a lot of expensive aftermarket parts on our rigs and I'm thinking...
