Alabama Hills/Death Valley November 10/13 with stops in between

For the SoCal guys, my plan is to leave Culver City at 1000 hrs on Thursday and meet @Reconnoiter around 1100ish in Santa Clarita. I have not confirmed this with him yet. So far it's just the voices in my head. All are welcome to join us. @Armostunt @Judge

Friday night camp will be Saline Valley/Warm springs. If you're okay getting there, we should be easy to find since the road goes through the campground.

Alabama Hills/Death Valley November 10/13 with stops in between

IMPORTANT REMINDER for those arriving after 1000 am Friday, we are not base camping. This means if you arrive late, you'll be playing catch up since we'll be on the move. If you're familiar with the area it's okay otherwise, I wouldn't want anyone caught in a bad situation with no help available.

I'm fine with that, I can leave anytime. I was thinking 1000-1100ish but could adjust. I'm near LAX.

Do you get asked about your rig?

Agreed, I get the most questions about the limb risers. Depending on my mood, I'll say they are for hanging my laundry while camping, stabilizers for high speed driving (in a lifted JK!!) or sometimes I actually explain what they really are for. :tonguewink:

Thanks for the heads up. Too bad you won't make it but there's lots of trips planned in the near future hopefully will work out for you. Enjoy your family vacation.

@RobRed Thank you for the good info. If you check our first post, I've layed out our itinerary. By checking yours, looks like we will be a day ahead of you by not camping at Eureka Dunes. Maybe at some point our groups will cross paths.

@Mademan925 Although you can't drive the Eureka Sand Dunes, there's loose sand on the back side where I've seen vehicles stuck. We've got a couple days to get you stuck!!

I think at least one bundle per vehicle would be good for three nights.

Good info. Looks like there might be a couple groups doing the same trip. Saturday camp might be a challenge but I'm sure we will be fine.

If Whitney Portal is too far, we can probably leave the car at Alabama Hills or check with the ranger station in Lone Pine to see if they allow extended parking.

    Portable Fire Pits?

I like the design of the Tuffy, the cover opens up to be legs and then folds up and not too big when closed

    Portable Fire Pits?

Looks good. I have read that the trend at campgrounds is above ground fire. Better for the environment? Obviously your job is getting in the way. As you know I'm a big proponent for retirement, it works for me.
