I’ve wondered if I should remove mine from under my Tacoma. I’d need to add a tire holder which would be more weight and I already have enough! Have you done a lot of off-roading? It never was an issue of getting hung up on rocks? Thanks!
Well, I had to have it. I got the ARB pictured here; it’s a beast. That won’t be the first or last time I have to eat the cost for something. Actually it’s worth it to me to have the best recovery point I can afford.
I don’t know for sure, but they sure look the same to me.
I’d say the only thing different are these particular tracks have been predrilled to align with the metal braces that support the deck underneath.
You can’t see where these metal square tubes run underneath; they do provide small...
Just installed a larger and better designed recovery tow hook for my 2nd gen Tacoma.
The OEM tow hook (pic provided) is pretty small and looks slim to say the least. I wanted something that would be a lot easier to secure recovery equipment.
I think this should do the trick.
I went to...
Installed my Decked Core Trax just now. Combined with the bed wall tie downs and ratchet straps, I now have a secure means of transporting my water and other gear with hopefully minimal damage.
Just picked up a set of LT285/70 R17s for my Tacoma.
Looking forward to seeing how they perform. I have a lot of weight on my rig and just wanted a 10 ply tire for what I may be running into.
Thankful to be able to have these tires.
Well, I was able to get the bolt out by cutting the bolt head into a square shape, spraying JB Blaster down the bolt and using a pair of large channel locks.
I now have both bed stiffeners in place. Thanks to everyone for the ideas!
Great ideas. It’s gonna be a combination of these great ideas.
I wish I had a welder, but unfortunately I don’t. That’s my future addition to my garage!
What sounds plausible for my situation is I think I’m going to cut the head into a square. Soak w/ PB Blaster. Add some heat and then using...
Another friend suggested to cut the head off and the using vice grips turn the bolt out from underneath. He thinks the bolt is too long just trying to turn it after modifying the head.
Gonna try and try some more til I get that stinker out of there.
Your spot on with the heat. I knew better but got lazy. Heat is exactly what I should have applied before I even started. That was my mistake and now it’s costing me time and money.
I will check the extractor out if this don’t work. Thanks!
