Rollbar and bumperettes on, adjusted the idle screws on the carb, found out I assembled the power steering pump wrong so fixed that, and used one of my original cammie blouses to make a set of chain sleeves.
It together enough to move under it's own power. A few things popped up that I'm going to have to figure out. T-Case will randomly pop out of 4low. I've read this can be an issue of worn intermediate gear bearings or thrust washers but the t-case was rebuilt with all new bearings and thrust...
Not sure how you got to 65k. I went to the site added everything I could think of I would want to add to a base model and wound up at 39k. Is that a Canadian thing?
If there was an option to keep the stock steelies and 255 sized tires I would be all over that option. I do not want or need 35s.
Almost there. Most of the soft top hardware is on. Front bumper on, front seats in, New water pump in, no coolant yet and belts are loose. Letting the RTV cure till tomorrow, horn in, rearview mirror in. Once the wiper blades come in it'll actually pass inspection.
This is just south of Whites City. Its BLM land. Easy access and tons of pullouts. My daughter and I stayed here overnight on our way to run the NMBDR. We went far enough in traffic noise wasnt an issue.
Water pump removed waiting for replacement. Back seat in along with its seatbelts. Windshield frame, windshield and wiper assembly in place, tailgate installed, finished up the battery tray install, the support arm that came with it was way too short but I happened to have another support arm...
They backtracked on that in September. Apparently they won't be coming along till later in the model year but you will be able to get it at some point.
One of my biggest problems with Jeep/FCA right now.
Instead of being like "hey maybe we should offer some off road goodies in the base models? Like maybe lockers at least?"
They were like "nah we'll tease this Hemi powered Wrangler that should do the trick".
Made some good progress yesterday. Fired it up for the first time since I started the tear down. Waterpump is eating itself though so have a new one coming in today, about to go out and pull off the old one in preparation. Still waiting for front seats to come in along with front bumper and...
I've got a spot for my truck rifle when I go out and about. Lockable and all that. Been thinking of adding something to the CJ but will wait till I finish it to figure that out.
You could just buy a compressor that will service just fine. No need for a shop to "install" it. Just pull it out of the bag and clip it to your battery when needed.
Its starting to look like something now. Brakes bled, wiring nearing completion. It does crank. Both fenders and grille on. Shifter installed, oil pressure line ran gotta clean up the wiring around the battery.
Even with the painless harness wiring is still time consuming. Im glad i decided...
Can I get some of what you're smoking? As stated above that's one hell of a stretch. What do they have in common? Removable top?...........kind of like the old Bronco? It even looks similar enough to an old Bronco. I guess you can take the removable door think against them but Jeep doesnt...
I wanted a Willys so bad but couldn't find one local that I thought would be salvageable in a reasonable time. Wound up with a 76 CJ5. It's not a Willys but at least it's pre Chrysler days :P
This one looks amazing. I'm totally Jealous.
Maglite is a prime example of what happens when you rest on your reputation for too long, they're building Model Ts while the rest of the industry is building F1 cars. Their most loyal vocal customer base has slowly died off or moved on to other better lights while they continued to...
It's literally the link he provided in his post. That link takes you to an article on the Jeep Jamboree website and in the title in large, bold, letters it says "
