Would be great, except for the cost. This ammo can was free, been following me around the country for many years lol and maybe 10 or 20 cents of hardware I already had laying around to secure it down.
Ammo can center console in the CJ to replace the cheaply made low buck thing that was in there before. The old one locked but was made out of particle board and vinyl so would have been easy to break into, and the previous owners were fishers I guess cause it was full of old lures and used...
Family Dollar or Dollar Store or whatever you version of it is near to you. I use them for all my camp china needs. No reason to spend real money on this stuff. You can get 3 of each spoon, knife, fork for a dollar. Same for cooking utensils, dirt cheap and if I mess it up oh well I'm out a...
Couldn't have happened to a better company. But knowing how the FCC's reactions have been to past violators, I'm not holding my breath on anything actually significant happening. If past actions by the FCC are any gauge they probably have a solid decade and another half dozen action letters...
Finished up my purge and reorganization of the garage. And cobbled together a shop chair out of a half stick of square tubing and one if the old seats out of the CJ.
Not so much my vehicle but where my vehicles live.
Another partial day of purging and reorganizing the garage. This shelving unit at the back of the shop always takes the longest to do and hopefully I can wrap this up tomorrow. Already feel like I have so much more space now that the tables...
Mine runs fine on name brand flux core wire. The spool that originally came in the box with the welder was garbage. I assume that spool goes in at the factory in China then just gets contaminated over time and exposure on the long boat ride to the states.
I do the same thing. 2 bottes, One in use one spare. In use one is marked with a sharpie "use first", pick up another one when we use the spare next time were in a town for gas.
You're not going to find someone to refill the disposable ones because it's illegal. You'll have to do it...
I've got a set of the Midland T51s. Solid little FRS radios and the battery life is quite long. I use them as hand out FRS radios for those unlicensed and around the house. Haven't used the USB charging feature yet. I keep the base on the table by the front door since we use them around the...
Since the previous owners hacked up the stock radio spot I decided to just shove one of my commercial Motorolas in there. Need to get a trim ring made up for it.
I'll echo what's been said above. Find out what the people you run with use. And that first. I'm setup to run CB, GMRS and HAM. I don' typically run with any one group but I've had luck getting the local Jeep club to move towards GMRS. To the point I've been able to run a "Jeep Club" net on...
A Howell system is on the list eventually for my 304 equipped CJ. The Motorcraft carb is quite good but I do like me some FI.
Nothing really mechanical today. Took the CJ out for a spin. That's about it. Trying to use it for everything on my days off so I can get some miles under it to...
Just install both radios and two separate antennas. I have a primary radio spot and a "secondary" radio spot. THe secondary spot is typically setup for a basic APRS setup but I can easily throw in my CB radio as well. I run a NMO mount on each fender. The passenger side one is either a 1/4...
