    Camp stove cooking

Some friends of mine have that one plus the big one they use at home in place of a traditional grille. It cooks nicely but dang it takes up a lot of space in the back of their JKU.

    Cot Recommendation?

It's all about technique. Stand the cot on it's end. Stand on the lower legs and use your legs and arms to help push the crossbar into place. You can also flip it the other way and use your foot press down on the bar.

New offroad park - Palo Duro Canyon - Amarillo, TX

I just saw their pricing structure. One night with me, wife, kids and Jeep is running over 90 dollars.....per night. Yeah hard pass. That's a lot of gas money.

    Power Generators video

There's a reason I only self fund my solar projects. None of them are good enough for public consumption lol. Here's my homebuilt solar generator. I'm about to replace the SLA batteries with some Dakota Lithium 10AH batteries for weight savings, should also give me a 9 aH bump in capacity...

Camping in and around dry riverbeds

Topographical maps can be a huge help but obviously areas close to and around rivers/creeks ect are subject to changes in the terrain that a topo map won't account for. In my experience living close to the Brazos River growing up the areas that seemed to flood all the time had lots of "stuff"...

I look for "springs" on topo maps in GAIA. sometimes you can drive pretty close to them but some of them are way off in the underbrush. Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma seem to have quite a few. Example of the marker below on Gaia Topo maps. This one is in the Ouchita Ntl Forrest on the west...

New offroad park - Palo Duro Canyon - Amarillo, TX

Let me know if ya'll want to go back and shoot there. 15 dollars for me to bring guests. 250 dollars a year is worth it to me. No way I could haul in enough dirt at my property to build decent berms for anywhere near that. I think the main reason they went to annual membership vs pay at the...

New offroad park - Palo Duro Canyon - Amarillo, TX

Judging from the rules they're slanting it more towards overlanding ish and more "normal" sized vehicles they're limiting tire sizes and what not. It's 9 square miles and going to be expensive. I'll just push on to a national Forrest.

    Heavy duty suspension

Have you put your Jeep on a scale to see what you are weighing in at? You'll get total weight plus weight of each axle which will help you decide on proper spring rates. Watch your GVWR, and GCWR ifyou are towing.

    Manual Sway Bar Disconnect

My manual swaybar disconnect is a 17mm and 15mm socket. I just remove a link from the driver's side and go.

    Airing Down Nitrogen Filled Tires

I think you'll be fine going with regular air. A good air drier on a compressed air system will get as much moisture out as you need.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Got my harness in to plug my M1225 Motorola in the CJ into my intercom system. I won't have PTT and headset microphone capability but I can hear the radio though the headset and use the handmic to talk back out.

Midland 3 dB Gain Ghost Antenna vs. 6 dB Gain Antenna

If it's still high I would suspect a bad antenna. Even the ghost antenna shouldn't give SWR readings that high on GMRS.

    Doors off when overlanding/offroading :)

My Bestop doors turn into half doors. I pull them in half and tuck them in the cargo area. No body. At least I've never seen anyone say or mention that.

    Jeep Gladiator Steering Repairs

I try to unless I just can't finagle a torque wrench in there. Habits from aircraft maintenance where deviating from torque specs is a big no no.
