As i have just installed my setup, i am about to go on a 3400 mile trip and i want to know the best way to interact along the route, understanding there are repeaters along the way that i may not know about.

I have a 3rd Gen 4Runner (99), i want to mount my ham radio in the cargo area and use the existing 12v cigarette lighter wiring if possible. However, i have essentially no experience with vehicle wiring and if this is feasible. Any advice would be appreciated!
Are there any good physical stores or shops for overland equipment or products? I dont mind shopping online but in store is just better. Gotta be able to touch the stuff you know?
