Out social distancing yesterday. Explored a empty campground in the south east corner of the province. We could see Minnesota from where we were across the frozen lake
Very cool another GMT 900 build.
I was reading, actually skimming through as I am at work, that you were looking at winch mounts.
here is the link to my thread and I put a winch in behind the factory bumper. I also mounted it a bit higher than the rough country mount.
I have had this truck for...
I have one but it had to be screwed into the truck. I really love it and it holds a surprising amount of tools and such.
the one I have seems real durable as well
Here is completed winch plate and installed on truck for anyone who might be interested. If I didnt have the setina bar it would have been easier just to buy the Rough Country unit, but I have been told mine sits higher than the RC unit, and I like to build crap and this little project showed me...
Another mild update.
designing and building a hidden winch mount with material I had on hand (Scrap)
I am getting new tires tonight and am booked up the next few weekends so I am not sure if I will get installed before the weather turns. but I figured I would show progress

on our 16.5 I am on our second round of resealing some of the roof points. I caught them before they turned into leaks. So now I try to go up every trip just to inspect. Our last trip for this year is the weekend of the 20 to 22 then she goes to sleep for the winter.

So I have continued modding up our NoBo 16.5. 2 of my favorite mods to this point are A: I removed the sink from the wet bath man did that make using the bathroom a less cramped experience. B: I installed a set of JT strong arm stabilizers now it feels like a solid little cabin when set up no...
At this point my truck is running a 2" level on the front and a Add a Leaf in the back with 33 inch tires on stock wheels, as I pull a 16.5 NoBo trailer to get out into the woods. I have in storage my old XJ which runs about 5 inches of custom lift and as much as I really wish the I had a solid...
I have been building my 09 Sierra for a few years now, there is very few things in the aftermarket for these trucks its like the 07 -13 gm trucks are the ugly step children. So I adapt and am slowly building into a reliable daily driven adventure truck
