I am glad you liked it and congratulations to your daughter, must be a pretty cool place to work. We think we will be going through Portland on our upcoming trip and hoped to visit the store and dine at Takibi but is seems to be fully booked the night we will be going through sadly. As I said...
As I have been getting ready for the latest trip I have been doing a lot of home dehydrating of various foods and it is pretty surprising how good some of these recipes are. But I have also been trying some other items out and I found a couple that I thought were pretty good and thought I would...
Anyone going to be in the Ouray area 8/22-25 and interested in running some of the trails? I am thinking Ophir, Emogene, Alpine Loop and would like to do Black Bear. If anyone around or has experience on these trails I would love to connect.
In looking at the travel plans which have been updated recently by the Dixie Fire I have been thinking about the ID BDR for a coupe of sections instead of the TAT. It still a bit flexible as one always needs to be but think this is the route I am taking.
I have never heard of those bikes before but just checked them out, they are cool as heck. I expect they work as a traditional bike if you want to just pedal and save battery as well?
Good morning all,
I put up a new video this morning and it is a change of pace from the cooking. It is a two part video that takes a look at some of the smaller camping gadgets that I like to carry with me when I go out and why I like them. Nothing super pricey here and nothing over $100 but...
Thanks @grubworm and agree on the different meats! For reference the pressure cooker I used was 5.7 liter. One thing to watch is if the bottom is too thin you could burn the food on the bottom as camp stoves may not be the best simmering tools.
This is some good conversation for sure and I think a lot of us find ourselves in similar situations, especially as the kids head off. I recall the daily drive looking for a signal to make sure Snapchat streaks were not broken and at the time I was just grumbling inside about the stupidity of...
Yes, the wolverine scratches must be documented as I am sure very few of us have actually seen the aftermath of a wolverine attack! All kidding aside I tend to fall on the side of taking care of my gear but most certainly not babying it-I got some pinstripes on my Raptor the first month I had it...
Good morning all.
I just put up a new video with a very tasty green chile jambalaya recipe. The bit of a twist is that I made it in the GSI camping pressure cooker which I am quite fond of. Not sure if you have used it or are familiar with it but if not you can check it out here. It is a great...
The Camera Lady found it on Instagram I believe but it started on TikTok. I have never looked at it but my college age daughter loves it. If you search hard enough on TikTok I am sure you could find a cute little cat smoking some cheese on a home made litter-box smoker!!
Hey all. I was looking at the TAT website as I was thinking of running the Pacific portion later this year when I am out that way. From what I can tell from the website is that this trail was mapped for overland motorcycles, not 4x4 trucks and Jeeps so I sort of dropped it. But I was hoping some...
I don't really know what offset my AEV Salta wheels use but I am guessing pretty close to stock. Increasing offset (pushing wheels out) puts a lot of strain on the bearings from what I understand and can lead to premature failure. I think it is wise to stick as close to stock as possible. If you...
This weekend, sadly after returning from a trip to northeast Iowa, some great views of the Mississippi, I tried the new smoked cream cheese that is popping up on the social media. I was surprised how good it was and is really easy to make and could be done at camp, even off to the side of a fire...
If you are only moving from the 1 lb bottles due to the waste factor-and I agree with you on that and same for butane-you might be interested in this bottle which is a refillable 1lb bottle. Seems you could take advantage of the cheaper refills on the big tanks but safe room in your rig and only...
