Welcome to OB! You are pretty close to Canton GA and we are having a meetup at Reformation Brewery this Saturday 1-4. You guys should come! Check it out on the Rally Point page.
Awesome, thanks for taking the time to answer that thoroughly. Your spacer did the trick pretty nicely. I’ve looked at photos before and had never noticed the notches before. Great work.
I have been eyeballing that very bumper for quite sometime. It looks awesome man. Any issues you ran into installing it? Sag the front much?...I think you sold me on just from your photos.
Cool thread for sure. Here is my bike: a Specialized Chisel 29er...
People normally look at me weird since I don’t have a full suspension but I’ve always just preferred hardtails. We are lucky north of Atlanta to have several great singletrack spots.
Welcome to OB Jack! Lived in Fayetteville for a few years and found some good spots—some were on the range areas of Fort Bragg so really no camping, but decent off-roading. Otherwise Uwharrie isn’t that far.
Just put on our first RTT, pretty excited to try it out. I get all the arguments against RTT but for me I like the idea that it’s always there, ready to setup and take down fast. Hopefully by putting it on a low bed rack it won’t be too much of a wind sail.
Added the Yakima Outpost truck bed rack and the Smittybilt Overlander tent.
This last image is how the Yakima Outpost mounts into Nissans and Toyota’s with rails. Pretty easy setup. Took less than an hour and required only the tools it comes with.
I have a Yakima Megawarrior as well and drove down the east coast with storage boxes on top at interstate speeds—-just used bungees. A lot of bungees, but nothing moved around. I have the net for the Megawarrior too but it’s hard to get it really tight.
Here is my current setup: Yeti cooler for cold storage, a pelican case for dry storage, water jug, Coleman stove and a set of GSI pots/pans....on a tailgate. Works for us, however Im looking forward to getting an awning to throw over the tailgate. That would be my next add on to the kitchen.
Welcome to OB! Not from the NY/NJ area but you might be right that PA is the best bet near you. I might be moving up to PA next year so I'll let you know what I find!
