2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

I never experienced the death wobble, but shocks shouldn't have any positive or negative effect on death wobble. That is all from the steering setup. If the wheels/tires are in good shape and in balance, I would start looking at the ball joints, tie rod ends, steering stabilizer, etc. as any...

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

second on the 5100's. They're good quality. I have about 15k-20k on mine with OME HD springs. I would have gone Fox if the cost was justifiable.

RZFZJ80’s 97 Land Cruiser Build and Adventure Thread

Good call on that battery! I run the same one in my WJ. Almost went with a NorthStar like many recommend on here, but the lack of availability scared me off if there was ever a failure. AutoZone's are everywhere and a quick warranty replacement is little hassle.

No coffee for me.... but for my wife. Best Press?

Stanley makes a good french press. IMHO it is the best french press I've ever used. So good in fact that I got rid of my normal french press and use it all the time.

    Coffee Percolators

I have a Coletti Bozeman perc. It works well and is made well, but I found myself reaching for my Stanley french press for the flavor. Maybe I need to work on my perc skills, but the french press is easy to perfect and I can produce the same quality coffee every time. Cleanup is a breeze. Plus I...

    CB Coax question

I had this one on the list to consider. My biggest issue is the length since I am currently running a 15ft cable with some slack, and I'd hate to create any sort of issue by coiling the extra cable somewhere. Is that concern accurate?

    CB Coax question

I can't really tell from the Amazon page, but can I unscrew one of the ends to feed through the firewall? I don't have a lot of space to feed a cable through.

    CB Coax question

I have had a CB on my rig for some time without much for issues. Recently I noticed that one of the PL259 male ends has begun to crack around the retaining nut. I have begun to look for a better option, not only with quality, but also with routing. I have just ran the cable from the CB in/on the...

Do you run a DIY tarp awning?

Use your fire wood, jerry can, cooler, spare tire, or some sort of empty bag to fill with whatever you find.

    1999 Jeep WJ wannabe overlander

Nice to see another WJ on here. Thanks for the info on the fan swap. If I have issues with my cooling system after the last round of work, I'll end up going that route.

Bow saw or other for small firewood chores?

I generally just buy wood or haul my own since I camp locally and most place I go are state or privately owned. I always have my axe in the rig if needed and a collapsible bow saw is on the list to get.

    Spices what do you carry

While I usually try to meal-prep ahead of time for longer trips or trips where we're short on cook time, I always carry a spice container that holds salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Those are typically what I use anyways.

What do you carry on your roof rack other than a RTT?

I sometimes run my Plano cases up there if I need the extra space in the rig and hold them down with ratchet straps. I have my ARB awning on it all the time bolted to the FourTreks mounts and ActionTrax up there sometimes on homemade mounts that get held down with wing nuts or a ratchet strap. I...

    Jeep WJ ARB bumper questions

This might be a long-shot, but with my idea of adding the ARB Bullbar bumper to my WJ, I had a few questions. 1. Recovery points: What can I do for recovery since the points on the bumper appear to just be tow rated and not rated for recovery. 2. Radiator protection: From what I can tell in...
