Forgot to post this thing up a while ago. BROG tool bag is a game changer. I haul nearly the same amount of tools in a smaller, more packable form. The big tool bag was nice but after my trip to AZ for Expo and the Grand Canyon, I realized it was just taking up some unnecessary space, which of...
I went with the Bilsteins over the OME's based on other's reviews for my rig, however I do run OME springs. Nearly went with Fox but the cost drew me away. Might go that route depending on how long this all lasts.
If you want to avoid spending the $$ on the ARB breather kit, as I'm sure you'll run into issues other Jeep owners have with it while running Dana style axles, give this thread a look as I built my own breather kit for less than the ARB.
Personal preference. I'd say having both as an option would be ideal as there are pro's and con's to each setup. I have used ground tents exclusively for the past 25 years or so and can safely say there are ways to make them work in most any scenario, but a RTT would be ideal for ease of use...
One thing I forgot to mention was looking into these boxes for under-foot storage in the back. They come in tons of sizes and have come highly recommended by one of my instructors at Overland Expo. I am looking into them to fit on the floor of the rig in the backseat. This might be a better...
I'll suggest Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. I went with them over KO2's mainly for price, but also over other competitor offerings for things other than price. They have the 3peak rating, aggressive look without the noise, good grip, great in all conditions from what I've experienced and heard from my...
I would assess what is used and not used on each trip. Also, what was needed but not brought along. You might find that you're over-packing in some cases and under-packing elsewhere. This might free up space if you over-pack. Backpacking gear for sure would be a place to look to reduce the...
I daily carry a Voyager xl cold steel pocket knife. This was a gift from a close friend and it seems to hold an edge longer than most pocket knives I've daily carried. Before that, I daily carried a Gerber assisted open, which I occasionally switch to. I open carry a few different fixed blades...
How does everyone deal with rust? I have some rust on the underbody I know I need to deal with soon. While it's just surface rust, I need to deal with it ASAP since winter will be upon us before I know it. My experience tells me to hit it with a wire cup brush to knock all of what I can off...
I would recommend a short lift. Factory springs and shocks are ok for pavement use. Any off-road travel or carrying a load and you'll want to upgrade. I recommend Old Man Emu springs for sure. I have heard good things about their BP-51 shocks, but they do not make them for my application, so I...
I have heard the Thermocell devices don't work worth a darn the first couple times they're lit up? Wonder if that was your experience? Might be worth lighting them up a few times to break them in? Maybe a new pad?
Just a suggestion, you might try using the guylines for the rainfly. That might help the moisture and the wind. I would also look into a footprint/ground tarp the same size or just smaller than the floor of the tent. That'll help with any moisture on the ground. You might also look into some...
Finished up the breather extension mod. FINALLY! I gave each diff some slack for flexing, but everything is secured with 200lb test zips. OEM vents on the rear diff and trans seem to have been clogged or just rather dirty give a little fluid buildup on the vent and around the barb. Cleaned all...

Probably a good idea to pull the cover to begin with. That way you can inspect everything, clean it up, clean the cover and repaint, and have a new seal. If I had access to Amsoil, I'd use it for everything. Way better oil over everything else from what I've seen and heard. Valvoline gear oil...
Sage, rosemary, tea tree oil, and some others seems to repel mosquitos. We have looks at planting sage around our home, but also making a spray using these essential oils. I have heard burning sage and rosemary should repel mosquitoes as well. I know tea tree oil works well for mosquito bites...
