Heather,
The western slope was my home for 15 years and loved wheeling all over out there. The Bangs Canyon trails are fun but dont go alone... you can get in a bad spot quick out there and the cell service is pretty limited. The Kokopelli Trail leaves right from Fruita and goes all the way to...
My general starting point for axle placement is to place the center of the axle 10% behind the centerline of the cargo area.
EX: cargo area = 96". 10% of 96 is 9.6" so center of the axle will be ~57.6"(48" + 9.6") from the front of the cargo area.
While this isnt foolproof it is a good start...
They are called DROP axles and not DROP/LIFT axles for a very good reason and it has nothing to do with the camber built into the beam. Even a spring over(leafs on top of the axles vs standard leafs UNDER the axle) will shorten the lifespan of a trailer leaf spring.... and adding ~5" of extra...
DO NOT FLIP A DROP AXLE!!!
The torque from the leverage the hub has on the leafs will break the leaf springs. Your best bet is to purchase a 3500lb straight axle with the correct bolt pattern hubs or ones that you can get SINGLE PIECE adapters for. Custom made straight axle will run you about...
x2 for Baja Designs lights.
American made, lifetime warranty. They arent cheap amazon LEDs but the performance shows. I had a customer remove his 50" Amazon light bar because his 2x Squadron pros on his bumper were brighter, cleaner and projected further.
I would recommend a pair of Squadron...
I have a few options for you:
1. Teraflex OUTBACK 3" springs. You wont need to redo the entire lift, just the 4 coil springs. They are designed specifically for overweight JKUs and work really well.(~$500)
2. Falcon Shocks. Just swapping out shocks for something with stiffer valving will vastly...
For under $600 you can get new factory Rubicon fenders and run 35s with no lift and stock wheels. Keep you center of gravity low and you will be happier with the jeep.
I also recommend Falken MT01 or AT3W tires. They are reasonably priced and work fantastic.
MY folks live in Venice, FL and I spend quite a bit of time in that area.... usually in a rental car or my Tundra though. Im always looking out for OB members to meet when I travel. SO if you are ever on the SW side of Florida, let me know.
Discs are awesome... when they work. They always seem to be a pain to keep adjusted and happy. They also require a lot more parts than a simple electric trailer brake. Plus if some part of them breaks(no pun intended)... they are hell to find parts for. The trailers are light enough that the...
I am a Timbren dealer/installer.
The bolt pattern to match your Tundra DOES NOT EXIST in the trailer world. Your only hope is to get a set of spacer/adapters to go from the standard 5x5" or 5x5.5" bolt pattern to the Tundra 5x150mm bolt pattern.
Im going to assume you are running a fairly...
