While my sPod set up was far from inexpensive, it was the cheapest option they had and I’m very pleased with the set up. I’m not super knowledgeable with wiring but created my own sPod like set up on my FJ. It doesn’t look pretty but it works and I’ve had no issues. The big take away for me...
Got some lights wired up!
A-pillar lights are Baja Designs Squadron Racers on SDHQ a-pillar mounts
Amber fog lights are Baja Designs Squadron sports wired to the factory fog light switch and the clear ones are Squadron Pros on a separate circuit
Now I need to go find a dark empty road and...
I have no plans for a fridge. Currently we are running a canyon cooler and are pretty happy with it. We have an m101a2 trailer that we’ve been fixing up and if we upgrade to a fridge it’ll go in the trailer. Seems I recall somewhere in another forum someone setting up a house battery in the...
No trouble at all with the firewall. There’s a plastic plate on the firewall with two bolts that I removed, drilled a hole, added a grommet, fed the wire loom and called it a day. The plate is where you’d find the clutch pedal on the manual transmission trucks.
We’ve had the Power Wagon for a few months now and with a big move back to Alaska in the near future some items needed to be addressed.
First on the list was adding a block heater. There is nothing really sexy or cool about a block heater so no pictures.
Next up was some form of power...
I did, I got pretty lucky with it. I had been watching the local dealerships for a couple months for one spec'd out the way I wanted and found this one just as it came off the trailer. I have seen some beautiful Power Wagons on various forums but not a lot of built up blue ones. I love the...
Awesome, fuel economy is overrated anyways hahaha! We were pretty aware of what we were getting into with the Power Wagon's MPG's when we bought it and we certainly aren't trying to make the rig something it isn't.
We've reached a point with our growing family were space was becoming an issue and we felt like it was time for an upgrade, so welcome the Power Wagon!
Coming from a pretty modified FJ Cruiser it has been quite a change adjusting to this behemoth of a rig, mostly due to wheelbase issues...
New Power Wagon owner checking in! Decided the family had outgrown our FJ Cruiser and we found this pretty truck sitting on a dealer lot begging for a home!
Our soon to be for sale FJ
I’ve been very busy and have neglected this post, but sometime glorious did indeed happen to my trailer. After a visit with the owner of Turtleback Trailers I walked out with some great advise and everything I needed to wire my trailer for power!
Next I made a call to Diamondback Truck Covers...
Finally took the rig out to test the new Metal Tech long travel suspension. The Metal Tech heavy springs w/Icon 2.5 shocks were a huge improvement over the OME w/Fox 2.0 shocks. The ride was smooth and we never found the bump stops. It should be noted that I carry a lot of extra weight which...
Rear suspension is rebuilt and my rig is sitting on all fours. Installed a Metal Tech long travel kit with heavy springs and Icon 2.5 remote resi.
The springs are a bit taller than the OMEs making them fun to install without a spring compressor. Ended up completely disconnecting the lower...
