    Chasing the night

I usually do F2.8, ISO 6400 ~20 seconds approx exposure. As for foreground. To really get a foreground you need a faint moon. Or you need to use a flashlight, like my display picture

    Chasing the night

For me, overlanding was getting close to something I really love. the night skies. That's what drove me to invest in 4x4 vehicles to go far far away, away from the lights, in search of the stars And as the light creeps everywhere, you have to go further and further away to find the true beauty...

    Off-line Tablet

I use Osm and with downloaded maps in most places. For no road navigation (eg flats), OSMAND works okay as you can lay down your track, but ORUXMAPS is what I use for that as it has lot of no road navigation features. For example, once crossing the Rann of Kutch(Little Rann) I borrowed a gpx...

US West Snowy trails for lightly modified GX's within 3-4 hours of the bay area SFO

With the storms rolling in, we are thinking of doing a day trip from the Bay area. The rigs are mildly lifted (mostly GX) and couple of us have Winches too. Looking for some forest trails reachable within 3-4 hours from Bay area where we can off road in not so deep snow. We earlier thought...

    OverlandLexusTN's GX470 Build

This is a very nice build. I am also looking at doing a suspension upgrade since the rear shocks/dampers have all but failed. Surprisingly, the airbags at 165000 miles are still doing fine. That said, I have decided to do the conversion, and will be going for the OME kit. Bilsteins look...

Hello everyone from the Bay area

Thanks for the welcome. Had some nice trips in the past couple of months. This is a great dirt road rig, and with the ride getting harsh, I guess a suspension upgrade should be 15,000 miles away. Kcrkolby, would love to see some normal rigs at Hollister, all I see are modified vehicles with...

Gas can on Tow hitch carrier

I may need to carry about 10 gallon extra fuel, and have two EPA certified GAS cans. However, I am not very comfortable on them sitting in the vehicle while driving because I think they do vent some fumes. I was wondering, can I carry them on my tow hitch carrier? I have a 2" receiver tow hitch...

    Greetings from the PNW

Thanks King. Thats a nice Cherokee you have. I have been reading that the old cherokee is one of the most reliable vehicles you can buy today. Does it have a 5 speed or 4 speed gbox?
