Camping is much closer. It is right out side the gate by food booths. I'd upgrade for that reason alone. General will be on other side of driving EXP. So about 10-15 minute walk at best.
I have the little red in the RV :) It is ok for 1-2 people. But for anymore I use Lavabox. Once you use Lavabox there is no going back. It is just super awesome.

Another vote for PC mapping than sync to phone. Key feature.
Another feature that is confusing and could use some work in Gaia is how to look at Routes others have posted. The user generated content is difficult to follow with no comment or pics included. And when you have 20+ overlapping...
Hello,
I'm in Camarillo also and just must have seen you on the hi-way as I was coming back from Expo West yesterday. Was a great weekend even with the wind :)
Hope to see you on the trail soon.
This worked good until I had a larger party and tried to cook bacon for all. Grease management was difficult. I'd take the Scottle or Blackstone over a 2 burner any day. And you can get the 17 inch Blackstone for well under $100. Blackstone and JetBoil are a good combo for space and easy cooking.
So have both the Scottle and Blackstone. I love them both and they both do about the same thing. I do prefer the Blackstone in most cases as it a bit more easy to use and clean. But with that said for most off road trips I take the Scottle as it packs better and feels more rugged.
I second the Garmin In-Reach. I have the mini and have the unlimited texting. Works great to talk to family when on a guys trip. They can track our progress also :)

Comms and recovery. After that go out and find the pain points. The list will grow from that.
My only word of advice as a friend learned. Do buy a sleeping bad at a supermarket. You will be cold. :)
That is a perfect time. Just plan for some very cold nights and slight chance of snow dusting. I do feel Dec. Is one of the more windy months. But one of the best to do the trail.
First I do not recommend. But I have done it with no issues. Rotopax only and I store them in a pelican style case below in case if they leak. I did not get any smell or fumes. But again I do not recommend and avoid it if I can.
I got some of these cheap so I store the Rotopax in one of them...
