I've owned several off road vehicles over the past 40 years with pretty much every option of traction added differentials. All I can comment on is my personal experiences.
Detroit Lockers: I've had them in my Jeep CJ 7 as well as a couple of my past Early Broncos. Harsh but tolerable on...
I'm a surfer and a mountain biker first and foremost. To me, that is what makes overland travel so great as it gets me to the awesome places to do what I really love doing. I carry my bikes on a receiver mounted Yakima Rack. Check out www.bikesdirect.com They have several decent entry...
My company makes a line of extremely high quality pullout kitchens which are a universal fit for SUV's and Vans. If you're looking for vehicle specific units, I highly recommend Goose-gear and Pullkitchen. Both are top notch quality and given what goes into each unit, are priced extremely...
Update... I spent New Years weekend swapping parts from my old rusted out Jeep to my new rust free jeep. Swapped out the good hood to replace the dented hood, took the hard top and doors and moved them over too. Next week it all goes to the body shop for paint!

Rainy day... what do you?? I got busy in the garage and installed my new wider fender flares. My goal was to contain the tires within the fenders to give it a more old school tucked look. Success!
Also purchased back my old CJ7 that my wife and I originally purchased brand new in 1985. I...
I just checked out your website (Blog). Nice build and awesome trips!!
I've been through the Rubicon over 60 times.. My recommendation for sustainability (specific to the Rubicon) is pack like you are going backpacking. The lighter you keep your jeep the easier it will be on your...
Back to my roots... I decided that it is time to give my 68 Bronco a much needed rest and save it more for weekend trips to the beach and get a jeep to tow behind the motor home and overland travel. Here is my new to me 84 Jeep CJ-7. It's already well equipped with the venerable 258...
