I'm a fan of both Jeep's and Bronco's. I currently own a 84 CJ7 and a 68 Bronco. Both are very capable off road but are a bit antiquated on the road. I can see myself in a brand new JL Rubicon or a Bronco Sasquatch in a couple years. I've been doing my homework on studying all the specs...
Just finished the exterior restoration of my 1984 CJ7. It's officially ready to hit the trails. Now I can retire the old Bronco and use it for a weekend beach cruiser!
Looks great! Only essential must have's that I don't see are first and foremost.. Fire Extinguisher, Shovel, and a High Lift Jack. You probably already have those items but are just missing from the picture.
I'm retiring the old bronco to weekend cruiser and surf rig... Jeep will be the trail overland rig. I was able to source the hardtop, and doors off of my very first Jeep from 36 years ago and had everything painted to match.
This is a very well built reliable Jeep with the venerable 4.2...
That's a beautiful trailer! I like the layout with the bed separate from the Dinette. Water capacity is decent too. Looks like a nice set up for your jeep.
I'm a huge fan of the Jeep JKU Rubicon. I purchased mine all decked out with lift, tires, winch, lights for 37k and super low miles. As you can see in the picture below, it will sleep two people with the xprite mattress kit (I'm 6-2). I could easily haul 2 mountain bikes (front wheel off) in...
Thanks for the kudo's on the Bronco! Yes... the fire is a real bummer. The new owner of the Cerro Gordo seams to be doing a good job of restoring the place. We had a chance to spend some time with him last week. He's determined to rebuild the hotel to exact specs as the original.... sans...
As of last week it was passable all the way to the salt tram. Snow drifts were only a few inches deep and maybe a foot at best in the deepest areas but had tire tracks in them from other vehicles busting through. The last snow drift between Swansea and Cerro Gordo was blocked by a abandoned...
Sorry we missed you. We made it up to Swansea, Cerro Gordo, Ballarat, Barker Ranch, Alabama Hills, and Reward Mine. Great Trip!! I hope you had a great trip too!
Hmm... wasn’t me. I was on Swansea/Cerro Gordo Yesterday. Went in on the Swansea side and made it bout 3 miles past the Salt Tram before having to turn around due to a abandoned Toyota Tundra that was stuck in the snow blocking the trail. We hiked for about a half hour looking for the the...
I was selling my 66 cuda a couple of months ago to a guy. When he saw my bronco parked next to the car he was buying he whipped out another 50K cash for the Bronco. I turned him down and kept the bronco. I went and bought a jeep CJ7 to use for the trail and daily driving and now saving the...
It's totally worth it to me. I have my RTT set up fairly high to allow surfboards or Kayaks to travel it. Mine is a Canadian Military Trailer. The axle was relocated under the leaf springs giving it a few inches lift. Fit 33's nicely and follows my bronco everywhere with ease.
Back in the 90's our kids grew up in the back our 1991 Grand Wagoneer. Midnight Blue Metallic, wood grain, chrome everywhere and plush cream leather interior. It was my wife's favorite vehicle she ever owned. It's now her dream car if I could ever find a nicely restored one at a reasonable...
I'll be in Death Valley and the eastern Sierra's that week as well. If you see my 68 bronco on the trail, please be sure to say hi!
Planning on Swansea/Gordo, Mengal Pass to Barker Ranch, Masourka Canyon/Papoose Flats, Reward Mine and Alabama Hills.
