I had a single cab 79 as a company truck in Kuwait. Loved that thing, did every thing I could to buy it from the company but was denied on all requests.
Thanks for the link Steve there's som great looking pups in there. I looked through most of that thread and it is for the most part just a picture thread. What I am looking for is ideas for platforms and things of that nature people have assembled in their rigs specifically it accommodate their...
Show me how mans best friend rides while you are overlanding. I haven't been out on a trip where my blue heeler (ACD) Diesel could go with us sense I got my new truck. Looking for ideas to make him more comfortable and secure while cruising the back country. Let me see what y'all have come up...
like the title says what and where are your favorite places in the states listed in the title for remote dispersed camping.
....And go!!!
Pictures and coordinates are a plus....
I keep froggtoggs in my truck all the time. They are probably the best rain gear I have ever used. I even use them at work as opposed to the ones my company provides. They are light, breathable, durable and a good value.

Planning a trip for summer of 2018. Planning on making a big loop from Texas through Colorado, Utah, Nevada & New Mexico. I have made this trip before but I did it solo. I am a ghost town and rusty relics nut so I was good just hunting those and exploring. This time I am going to take my wife...
Padre Island National Seashore seems like it would be a good place. 60+ miles of virgin beach. There is enough room there for every single member of OB to show up and still have room to spare. Just gotta stay off the dunes.
Crazy stuff I have loade on my Prinsu.
1) 4 sheets of 4'x8'x1/8" steel plate: 60 miles
2) 15 sticks 20' of 1.75" x .120 wall DOM Tubing: 60 miles
3) 2 grown men in lawn chairs, spotter scope, cooler, 2 long guns and a sheet of plywood (varmint hunting): 5.5 hours
4) 5 sheets or 3/4" marine...
Took mine to go find these guys on the way home from work.
17 points and still in velvet. Should have had camera with me. All I had was my binoculars and my phone.
Looks like a good location. I would suggest cutting your exhaust so that it dumps behind the axle if you do a lot of off-roading. Tacomas have been known to crush rear quarter panel with the exhaust. I know it may not be "technically" legal in some states but a exhaust shop can weld you a V-band...
This truck is also setting on the same suspension I listed above and on 42" tires. It is a crew cab on a suburban frame.
Same kit stock 56" rear springs in front, stock 1993 k2500 63" rear springs in the rear with 37" tires and no trimming.
Same kit with 2" lift springs and 38" tires.
On your lift I would look in to Beyond 52s on the front and 63s and a shackle flip kit on the rear. Those two things will give you much better ride and flex.
