Good platform to start from you have there. Hope the rust is all repairable. Road salt and Toyotas don't mix so well unfortunately. Salt is the achilles heel of Toyota trucks. Fluid film is your friend.
I would also highly recommend a set of rock sliders for your truck. The wheel base on full size rigs can leave the sheet metal vulnerable to damage in break over situations.
you can also build yourself a regulated air chuck. Then you don't have to stop and check the pressure several times and all tires wind up with the same pressure. I also have a regulated 4 way hose set up I built to do all 4 tires at once with lock on air chucks for each tire. You just set your...
I am in the process of building my trailer now. My plan is to build an adjustable height rack with gas shocks to raise the tent when in use and lower it for transportation.
Being that you are running a spacer lift please extend your bump stops to match. Not doing so will get you in a bind in a bad way. Spacer lifts allow the shock travel to bottom out before the bump stops are even close to contact. Your lexus shares the same suspension components as the FJ, Tacoma...
My personal preference would be either Engel, Eedgstar or Whynter. ARB fridges are great but they price themselves out of better than half of the market. I much prefer having a metal construction fridge over a plast one any way. I have used all of the ones I have listed above and they have been...
To the OP... when using cable clamps there is a little thing to remember.
Never saddle a dead horse.
The live end of your limb riser cable should be against the saddle and the tail should be under the u-bolt.
The clamp at the grille end on the passenger side of your rig is installed...
RTT will only treat you as good as you treat them. The privacy they provide and the 5-10 minute set up time is great. They take about 15-20 minutes to rig down but they are loads easier than a ground tent IMHO.
I also apply 303 Fabric Guard to my entire tent and fly 2 times a year. As well as regularly removing the cover from the mattress and throwing it in the washing machine and allowing the mattress pad to lay in the sun to air out.
Packing it up wet has not been an issue either still packs up well. I carry a box fan with me just for this reason when I get to the next camp I use some Gear Ties to tie the fan in the entry of the tent to drY it out.
I have rode out several thunderstorms in my tent. The key to keeping it dry is making sure you have all the stays in the rain fly. If you don't do that it will pool water above the annex room. The rip stop the rest of the tent is made of turns water really well. I have not had any water actually...
