Overland Clothing...not necessarily the branded overpriced stuff.

All Cabelas branded clothing is lifetime warranty. Their wool socks are great by the way.

A new chapter in life.. Enter the Wombat.

Yeah the only manual long bed option is an sr5 access cab 4x4, 2.7l I4, 5speed. I pretty much refuse to drive anything but a manual. I have had to many auto trans trucks (work vehicles) leave me in a bind in the wrong places. Just don't trust them.

What was your first vehicle you took exploring.

My '85 Hilux still have it and still drive it on occasion. Most fun I've ever had on 4 wheels with my clothes on. Then. Now.

BFG A/T K02 or TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T II?

We have tested both here at work on a fleet of 100+ trucks that spend 95% of the time off road. We did two 24 truck groups 12 with MT and 12 AT of each brand. So it was a pretty fair test. The BFG KO2 tires just flat out take a beating and keep on eating. They out performed the KM every where...

The Wanderer- Off Road Trailer Build

Yeah I'm with you on the rivets and sealing them. I'll probably wind up with welded steel on every thing. Rear will be a hinged door. Not fond of the drop down gate.

    DIY Rooftop Tent Ideas

Yep! Hinge plan I laid out one afternoon. Built one just as proof of concept and it worked. Wound up with a smoking deal on my current tent so I never followed through. The squared off area on the hinge should be bent at 90*. Some of my best laid plans have been drawn on a shop table.

I do wish that the long bed came with a manual transmission option... However I can deal with less space for actual driving enjoyment.

    Crossing Mexico to Belize

Yes sir... I always see these trip reports to Mexico and so few ever mention the fact that you must do this. I personally had a friend that had his vehicle impounded by the Federal Police for not having it. Took him almost a week to get his vehicle back.

Steve’s 2016 Toyota 4Runner Modification and Adventure Thread

Two recommendations for you Steve. 1) TRD Pro 4Runner front skid. The one on our Pro is a solid peice with good protection. Toyota did well on its design ours has taken some pretty good hits and still looks good as new. 2) Bed liner on your new plywood platform base. It will waterproof it and...

What is your must cook meal or must have food for camping.

What is that one meal that you must cook on a camping trip? Also if you must have a certain food item for travel to a particular location what is it? My must cook meal is my "Trail Tacos". Also I won't go to the beach without a peach. Something my grandfather started 30+ years ago when were...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

No problem. Like I said just looking out. I have seen several Toyota variants with this suspension stranded due to these spacer lifts when not done correctly. They are fine for a daily driver but a rig that is going to see regular off road use there are much better alternatives.
