Thank you.
Last week I finally got proper information. It started out as "you cant mount the BCDC in the engine compartment" to having them send a picture of a unit mounted behind the grill. I believe the person I was communicating with may have misunderstood or was possibly new. Thus my confusion.
The sting releases and odor called an alarm pheromone. This alerts any bees near by. The other bees become offended and go sting you also. I can say for sure, they will chase you over 100 yards.
I dropped a tree with a hive in it and didn't know it. Fortunately it fell away from me. There were...
No kidding.
I lead a trip out there once or twice a year. One is usually after Thanksgiving. The only time I hit 4wd is if we detour to a soft sand area. This is also with me pulling a small off road trailer.
You commented about having to break camp quickly with some of the groups you went out...
First, pictures and what vehicle is it?
1/2 plate is some pretty heavy material. Do you really need that?. Heat wise I assume you mean the console and not the 1/2 plate. Is the console just a storage box? Do you use it for an arm rest? do kids climb on it going from front to back? Do you need...
Trail ratings are subjective. Stay with the lower ratings until you get some experience. Gear wise...just wait, you will end up like the rest of us with a bunch of stuff you thought you needed but didn't.
If you ever come down to my neck of the woods, I run around in the Mojave quite a bit once...
What areas have you been to? I see your up by Sacramento.
Most of the forest areas up that way are fine. The harder trails have what's called gate keepers. If its difficult, stop. They just get worse.
Once it cools down, you have vast deserts to explore and very little will be difficult with...
Before social media, it wasn't as much of an issue. The "other's" would take pictures of damage. As long as you cleaned up, you were good. 90's brought us message boards (early forums) and we all knew not to post stuff. Of course i would go to a closure meeting and sure enough, video or pictures...
Hey...I don't do that.
(couldn't resist either)
Most of my life I've fought the "Off-Roader" stereotype. The environmental groups would use these picture/videos to prove to the politician's how evil we all are. Then at meetings, when their trying to close our routes because of this, the...
Oh...forgot.
Put up a sign restricting full size vehicles from the bridge, make it out of 1/4" plate and cement it in place. People will shoot it, ignore it and eventually tear it out of the ground. When they break their vehicle, they blame the trail.
UTube is full of these people. They buy (or worse rent) a very capable truck and with no experience do things like this. I started seeing these things when the Rubicon's first came out. At the off road events, your rig had to pass an inspection to join the hard core runs. We had no way to test...
All good.
Thank you for the offer.
This is just curiosity on my part.
I hadn't looked at them until I got two requests for custom installs. After contacting both companies I was a bit dumb founded to find out neither were designed for under hood. I have on the other hand seen people put them...
Damn.
Instant salvage title. Not one inboard computer or harness is waterproof. I would get things like this in the shop. The insurance company would just come out and verify the VIN.
That and how many 4WD boxy SUV's are out there?
The Rover shape was designed for its ability to store square edge containers efficiently. The Mercedes G wagon kept its boxy shape but how many people want to abuse a 150k-200k SUV with 22 inch rims? Toyota started rounding their corners after the...
Thank you.
I have seen several builds, online and in person using both of these but, I never paid them any attention. I'm just looking for feedback on ones installed in the engine compartment.
This is just curiosity on my part. I already have the systems mapped out.
Just a question of mounting location.
I have been roped into helping someone with these systems and it seems there's a difference on what people do and what these manufactures are telling me.
Just looking for input from people running either or both under the hood.
