Here's a pic of ours. The ones we would drive up are a bit to the left of the picture and not shown. The second is a lava tube you climb down into. If you go at the right time of year, the light beam goes down to the floor.
We have them here. Years ago, they cut narrow switchbacks up them. Short wheelbase vehicle only. We would drive up the tallest one and look out over the chain. You would park inside the Caldera. It was great. Now its a national park and we cant drive to most of the sights.
See if you can get HIR (Halogen Infrared) bulbs. They only come in a few sizes. They're commercial duty, have thicker filaments and don't yellow over time like normal halogens.
Also Jeep is notorious for having huge voltage drops at their headlights. This is due to running undersized wire. I...
Sounds good. I was considering cutting a pattern in the side and screening it. I was also hoping the fire would have taken the paint off. I wanted to use it for a while before I did any other mods to it.
Here's what mine looks like after a bit of use. The fire didn't disturb the paint. The missing paint and light rust are from abrasion over the course of a couple of decades. The can was originally used to store my air compressor. It would be taken out, dragged by the hose and tied back down.
I...
Do you already have projectors?
I converted my Cruiser to Morimoto D2S 3 projectors and HID. My 19 Tacoma already had projectors so I just went Morimoto HID low and their LED high.
On my sons 18 4runner, I did their 2 Stroke 3.0 high and low.
If you get an LED make sure you can adjust the bulb...
I'm not familiar with your standards. I can say if a frame isn't welded properly it will crack near the welds due to flexing. If I wasn't able to weld, I would be talking to fabricators, especially guys that build off road trucks. Street rod fabricators should be good also. general...
I would not do the tubing the way they did it in the video. They have the outer tube on the bottom. You need to put the inner on the bottom. This way the outside tube will keep the dust from "filling up' the gap. Like an umbrella
I've been towing off road trailers for most of my life. The shear...
The system in the video is using tube inside tube (nesting) with support struts.
Building that system is simple except for calculating the support strength.
I use that type of gas support in projects. I end up buying a few sets before I get it right. Fortunately their not too expensive.
If...
Cover and don't turn it down too low. I run mine at 38. If I go lower the compressor runs longer. More draw, less life span.
I have a 50qt Whitner chest style that's pushing 8 years old. Its mounted in my trailer which bumps it more than a normal vehicle as well as way more dust. High temps are...
Quite a few of the guys in my group have this. I'm the last hold out ( I need to buy 2 with walls). The average age of the awning is over a year and heavily used.
I think you have the pole upside down. I have helped the guys set up and I think I remember the ball being up.
The areas we camp tend...
I forgot to add.
If it appears everything is tight, it's probably not your panel.
Have someone sit behind you if possible. Have them move around when its rattling. As I said earlier, the noise can transmit.
One of my jobs at the shop was (unfortunately) noise. Sound can transmit and make you think its somewhere else. Believe it or not, I had to go to classes on noise diagnostics.
Finding noises can be difficult and very time consuming. Once you find them, its not too hard to cure.
Its pretty...
