Ouch, Sno-Master failed? Bummer, fortunately you didn't lose hundreds of dollars worth of food and were near to friends and family to have it overnighted to you. Electrical system failure? Kent - I must ask, are you keeping it simple? ( tongue firmly in cheek ) BTW, did you happen to camp...
Agree on the shocks, I’ll install a pair on our trailer before our Arctic/Yukon run next summer. Interestingly our trailer doesn’t bounce much at all on highway, but even at a crawl it is constanty finding air underneath one tire or the other, at 20Ppsi.
I’ve been using our little buddy in a hobby room in the basement for the last two winters, with the door open to the unfinished part of the basement. No problems at all, the room is 12x18, about 1/3 of the basement.
Our 80!series has 356,000: I’m reasonably expecting to get 450 to 500,000 at an average of 12,000 miles a year that’s a ways off. It’s not a daily driver, it is for touring only.
I’m pulling a single axle 4x6. I know if I ever decided to build a 6x12 trailer I’d definitely be going with a tandem axle set up. ( not just dual axles ) like this. Tandems will crawl over things.
Old Man Emu provides more bang for the buck than anyone else. Contact their USA headquarters for great advice in choosing the correct spring rate for your needs. I’ve a ‘96 cruiser now and in a previous life an ‘04 Rubicon and will not even consider a company that uses the term “lift kit”. You...
Well ya- enforcement. 20 years ago or so, the Northway, I-87 between Albany and the Canadian border was known for horrible fatal accidents. In that 180 mile stretch of interstate people were dying on a very regular basis. Bus loads: truckers, cars. Finally funding was approved and enforcement...
Wow, ya gotta really love the high tech stuff to do that, and I do have an appreciation for it all. However, I don’t think I could deal with all that clutter. My GMRS is mounted out of camera view in front of the freezer, the steel ball is the mount for my phone and the Hula Girl oversees my...
Wow, I'm very late to this party.

I know a guy that paid for a guided trip/tour here in the east out of WV. He thought it to be a total rip off and way over priced. Never again, says he. Now, here's the thing, there is at least one tour/trip operator I'd be willing to pay for. Bill Burke put's on fantastic trips and...
With the addition of our 24gallon transfer tank from LRA the sagging rear end had to go. Out with the old 863s and in with the new 864s. No more sag! It was an easy job, about two hours, including a brew break.
Signed and passed on to multiple folks. We just finished a trip up through Lockhart Basin heading north, where we encountered only one cyclist and three other vehicles in 4 days. ( yes, we took our time and camped 3 nights in a really sweet spot) Once we dropped down to the intersection for...
I beg to differ. Every vehicle needs regular maintenance, doing what we do, old or new requires stringent maintenance, old or new. Do things wear out? Of course, so before the end of their known life expectancy you replace them. Do brands make a difference? In my humble experience, yes, a...
