    Electric powered overland vehicle

Yes, I read your entire post. To answer your question: No, I don't expect a huge step-change in electric drivetrain efficiency. To be clear, I am specifically referring to the power use of the drivetrain, not storage. The first electric cars in the US were built in the 1890s. Electric motors...

    Electric powered overland vehicle

Dude, the sun only delivers so much energy to the surface of the earth... it's just fact. Even if you harvest it ALL from every square inch of a vehicle it's not enough. Again, that's not an opinion, it's a scientific fact. And even if by some miracle that weren't the case, and you could get...

    Fitting 35s without a lift.

Gotcha, I glanced quickly on my phone, didn't notice the trailer in the first pic. ;) -TJ

    Fitting 35s without a lift.

I'm a fan of Silverados, mine came with 20"s stock, I immediately changed them to 18"s and now 17"s after the Solid Axle Swap. As for yours, I agree with ditching some of the front lift to level it. The only time squat should happen when off roading or Overlanding is for a 10-200. -TJ

    Fitting 35s without a lift.

Ummm, on what vehicle? And you don't want 20"s (much less 24"s) for an actual off roading including Overlanding. -TJ

Overland Bound is now an official partner with Tread Lightly

Very nice. I try hard to live by, and spread the Tread Lightly credo. -TJ

Recommendations for a three day, two night trip near Sacramento, CA?

The BDT I linked above is perfect for that. Sign up for their service, get the KMZ/Ls and load them in GAIA and do as much or as little as you want each day and stop wherever you like. The town of Allegheny and their mining museum is pretty neat, and The Little Town of Washington (a short...

    First Overland Truck

Your Tacoma is a bigot, I'm not sure I understand. That said, I guess you got the *only* 'taco to ever get 24 MPG. -TJ

    First Overland Truck

The Tacoma's drivetrain is grossly outdated. Everyone I know with them hates the lack of power, the trans always hunting gears, and the terrible MPG. I would pick the Ranger just for the 2.0T/10A. -TJ

Recommendations for a three day, two night trip near Sacramento, CA?

https://www.overlandtrailguides.com/post/tahoe-backcountry-discovery-trail Jump on any section of this, just be aware that Bowman Lake will be super-busy Fri-Sun and holidays. -TJ

    1989 suburban build starting now

IMHO if you box 1/3rd you need to box the whole thing. That era GM frame is verrrrry flexy, but it works okay when allowed to flex as designed. However, what I've seen is when you box just specific sections and leave others flexy it'll crack in the unboxed areas since they have to take up all...

In need of some Overlanding Areas near Boise

That's a mistake. It's worth the trip and really not far from Boise (and just the pavement drive from Boise is beautiful going up 55). -TJ

Hoplite III, a 2022 Power Wagon build (pic heavy)

Looking forward to seeing this build come together. I went from pulling an adventure trailer (SoCal Teardrop Krawler 459) behind Jeeps ('03 Grand Cherokee Overland that's very built and '17 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk w/ 5.7) to a full size with a Fourwheel Camper. I love my setup, but a full...

Resolved Can we change/tune the "frequency" filtering?

Ah, that's great news. I wasn't aware of the AWS migration, but that should be a great change. Thanks for looking into this, and providing such an excellent forum. -TJ

Resolved Can we change/tune the "frequency" filtering?

That's a shame, and IMHO it really shouldn't be that way. I'm on many other forums of similar scale/profile (so just as likely to be targeted by hackers/bots) and I don't experience this anywhere else. -TJ
