Epic…..Most don’t even know it exists let alone travel there, people come from all over the world to see our National parks and most are within a few days drive from us. Thank You for inspiring me to get back there again….
Thanks Scott for jumpstarting the South Bay group. It was a pleasure to meet everyone who attended…
If there is any interest in the group for a presentation geared towards members pre- tripping their vehicles prior to a trip, I would gladly volunteer my experience to the group at a future meet...
Your family’s safety is job #1, leaving the area if things look and feel sketchy and reporting it to the Ranger in this case was a very good decision…..
Papa Dave…..Please forward pictures of that baby with a chainsaw….My wife is against me teaching my son ( who is now 22) how to use one……I could use the reference….hehehehe
Welcome…..It’s what OB is all about, getting together with like minded “explorers”, Great people with lots of experienced back road and wilderness travelers that enjoy sharing their knowledge, ideas and over landing techniques…
Installing g new “Moog” branded “ U” joints on the front and rear drive lines this week, (keeping at least two of the still good but high mileage old ones for “ Trail spares”) in my experience staying with a good, heavy duty part when You have the option equates to peace of mind on the trip.

I can relate, at age 22 in 1977 I bought my first get outta town wheeler…A 76 F-250 high boy, needed plenty of tools to keep that truck running through the years all over the Sierras. Kick myself for ever selling it…

Cool, We have two acres in the redwoods up near the Hwy17 summit. Honestly, I’m a Hwy 395 junky at heart, exploring mines, old historic sites up and down from Carson City south, Bridgeport being my adventure base camp. From there I go N,S,E, and West at least 2-4 times a year….The Eastern Sierra...
Great views, great riding, off roading and exploring, we come in on Johnson lane off 395 in Minden/ Gardnerville. Always good times in the Pine nut Forrest…..
