Thank you
I must’ve taken way longer than needed researching it but I didn’t want to burn my truck down when I plugged in some lights or a fridge.
Rebuilding the plywood enclosure to make a smaller footprint and rearranging the components to all fit didn’t help (labor and time-wise) but at least...
Between Will Prowse and the book "solar and 12v power for beginners" I was finally able to wrap my head around building my portable solar 12v system.
I wanted something that would charge from pv panels or from vehicle alternator output and something I could use in the truck for camping or at...
Thanks for reminding me to get this year's license and tag.
I'll have to look in the camp kitchen forum for tag soup recipes; see if there's any I haven't tried yet ;)
CA D3-D5 is appx 11% success rate but its pretty and a good excuse for more back country camping.

I still have my 2003 WRX sedan but I don’t overland in it. I’ve gone out some questionable trails following some friends in trucks but the lack of clearance holds it back.
We don't really see the crazy thunderstorms and such around these parts though I see some good ones when I visit Arizona.
Heres a shot from in-between snow storms from last September. Fordyce lake, CA
Decent price, USA made, and works pretty well from the sound of it...Walmart, you say? I may need to go find one of these. Ice doesn't seem to last but a couple days in my cheapo igloo.
Hi all,
I just joined up and wanted to introduce myself. I've been learning a fair bit just from the u-tube so at least I won't go out totally unprepared anymore but I know there's more...so here I am, ready to learn stuff :D
We haven't been getting out too much so far this year since we're all...
