Got the 2A's Dana 25 wrapped up for the most part. Just waiting for the drive flanges to come in from FedEx. Work has kind of stalled on the 2A and this is the most progress I"ve made in a few weeks but I've got 5 days off coming up so I'm hoping to get a lot more done.
Installed a twin stick kit in the CJ5. JB Customs. Initially I only had 2wd, 4wd HI, 2wd Lo, but was locked out of 4 low. A call to their customer service people and they explained that on some of the short clocked twin stick shifters the factory mount would be slightly taller than others and...
Some Self Defense OC spray is stronger anyway. Bear Spray is regulated by the EPA as an insecticide so is limited to 2 percent or less. Self Defense spray isn't regulated that way and something like Fox Labs OC spray is 4 percent.
I doubt it, and if it did I'm not sure if it would control everything. The MXT400 is a rebranded Chinese radio a TYT TH9000D with GMRS specific programing and a Midland sticker.
I built my own "solar generator" It was a fun project but I did wind up eventually getting the Jackery 300 and have really like it. It's lightweight, convenient and has as much power as my larger heavier homebuilt box that I used SLA batteries in for cost savings. It may not be the best most...
My current primary tent is a Gazelle T4. Unless I'm in the CJ then I gotta take my Kelty tent due to size of the T4. But in the XJ The T4 comes with me.
I've camped in a lot of vairous tents from Wal Mart specials to some high end stuff and the T4 has been my favorite so far. It's nice to...
We use them around our property where we need a little light but can't justify running electrical. The ones we have work great and can be setup to do different things. Right now we have most of them set to a "low" mode until they pickup movement then go into a brighter mode, then 15 seconds...
I just don't have one. But looking at the LAVABOX looks promising but, no way I'm paying 200 dollars just to have a camp fire, I've got some 50cal cans floating around here I'll see what I can figure out.
We're already covered under the southwest region. Honestly there's not enough here re:overalnding to really justify our own region. Espeically when every state west of us has more overlanding opportunity than Texas by lightyears and they don't have their own regional forums.
NV is like 90+ percent public land. Find some BLM or Forest Service land (going to have to jump on GAIA or google) and make sure you have a good backstop and have fun. OH and clean up after yourself.
Got the frame cleaned up with the wire wheel and needle scaler, cut off the rusty battery tray and welded in a new one and welded up a series of cracks on the front of the frame and used the flap wheel to clean up those and some other nasty welds the previous owners have done. Tomorrow I hope...
Got the front axle finished as far as paint/prep and now waiting for parts to come in. Got the rear axle torn down and prepped for primer/paint plus ordered parts for it. And moved the frame outside in preperation for stripping it, busting rust, welding a few cracks and cutting out and welding...
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this rolled off the same assembly line as the Jackery units but with a different label. Or possibly units that didn't quite make whatever QA standards the Jackerys have.
