If you work in the field you could possibly actually right off the rooftop tent as a work expense and use it to sleep and if your company gives you a Perdiem for a hotel pocket that money. Have buddies that do that and it doesn’t seem like much but if you spend 10 weeks out of the year gone well...
Spacer is in swapped the “conversion” springs for 2” lifted ones . Ride is sooooo much better than the air ride was . Like the inner bump stop that came with the conversion kit .
I prefer to sleep on the ground with nothing but pine needles and a live raccoon as my pillow and I don’t worry about the rain because my skin is waterproof like a duck
I’ve done most every road and trail around the Mount Hood Area in Way Subaru Forester , Hardest thing you’ll find around there is probably the section of the Barlow Road coming out of the creek after you cross the bridge other than that everything is pretty much just gravel roads with some bumps...
Honestly for the effort of upgrading axles gear swap and lockers you may just want to look into getting a rubicon, it’s plug and play with everything ready to go and you also get a 4:1 t-case
As far as being concerned about the shackle offset , there’s a lot of offset in the kits used to sas swap a 99+ Chevy so I think you should be fine as far as bushing wear goes .
I will also say I put that TeraFlex 2.5 inch lift on my Rubicon and it was great except for the bump stop were too long and I only ended up with about an inch of up travel.
A little something to keep in mind all the extra tire in the world won’t do much good without lockers but if your truly just wanted to go over landing and light off roaring 35 will take your most anywhere.
After having one fall out again I’m getting Air bag delete , ome rear 2” lift progressive springs and front 2” spacers for now till I can get money set aside for coilovers . Then it’s on to tires
To play the devils advocate and to stir the pot a little , you question the expense of a rtt but want to spend a lot of extra money for a gladiator compared to buying a base model truck of another brand . They both will get the job done but a lot of that decision is personal taste .
