I 100% understand the reasoning behind getting rid of the patriot trailer. I've come to a similar realization with the RTT on top of the trailer as our only means of sleeping after doing the ID BDR last year. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love that setup, and it has worked extremely well...
What ducting do you use? It looks a lot better than what I currently have. Have you noticed any sort of hot plastic smell? If you could provide a link to where you got it, I'd really appreciate it.
I've read that not adding an air mixer causes the firepit to smoke a bit. I used it inside my awning room (with an open floor, so it wasn't fully enclosed), and noticed that I had quite a bit of smoke.
I lost my Regulator hose, so I haven't had a chance to test it yet.
I have a 5kW diesel mounted in an mtm box on my spare rack. I use it to heat my RTT in the winter. It works awesome.
I'm planning on permanently mounting a 2kw in the trailer I'm building. I'm going with a 2kw due to the insulation I'm installing. If it's not enough, I have enough room to swap...
Finished building the fold out part of the kitchen today. I need to cut some aluminum angle to mount the stove, and drill and fit the propane bulkhead fitting, but the rest of it is done!
I've gotta say, it turned out almost exactly like I had planned. It's a tight fit with the stove in...
I've tried, for sure. Over the last couple of years, we've really narrowed down what we want in a trailer. Barring towing a stand up camper with a toilet, this setup will have everything we need. I'll be migrating the water pump from the old trailer, as well as one of the 10 gallon tanks. I'll...
Ok, I think I've finalized the design of the trailer.
Bear with me here, as there's a lot to go over. First off, exterior shots, giving an idea of what it's going to look like when it's all built.

Talk about lucky! Good looking truck! My dad still has his 98 extended cab long bed (that he bought new in 98), but he doesn't drive it all that much these days.
Still runs and drives perfectly though.
Made the outer part of the kitchen box today.
Still have a bit more work to do before I can start the pmf process, but overall, it turned out rather good, but I I think.
I took off everything off the trailer that I could yesterday. I now have a 5x9 flatbed, and a good base to build on.
I finally got a good look at the trailer in the daylight. There are a couple of things worth noting.
I think I am going to have to move the axle back a bit. I haven't...
Frame has been acquired! I'm planning on building the kitchen box this weekend, to test out the pmf process.
I'm working on scoring some doors. Once I get that nailed down, I'll post what I found.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to this one. I've had a medical thing come up in the family which takes priority. Be safe, and let me know how it goes.
While pursuing Facebook marketplace for parts, as one usually does, I stumbled across the exact frame I posted above. I'm going to pick it up tonight after work.
Let the building and modifications begin!
I was thinking about that the other day as well. Either way, it's gonna be fun...
Now.... To decide which vehicle I want to bring. I'm debating whether I want to bring the truck or not.
Got the design for the kitchen box worked out. I was hoping to put the faucet in there, but that doesn't look like it's going to work out. If I do put it on the kitchen box, it'll have to be done in a manner similar to my current trailer, which is putting it in an abs junction box. If I did...
Been working out design details for the water tank, front fridge box, spare tire location, etc. I think I've got things figured out (for the most part). This is what I have right now:
This is sized for a 58QT fridge, which is great. I have a 30 gallon water tank underneath. I may put the...
Nothing wrong with that. I'm doing the same for my build. Spending extra money where required.
Most of my big ticket items, like doors and fans and electrical wire, I'm spending money on.
I've been doing lots of research on Central systems.....
I've decided I'm going with the Simarine Pico system. Ill be integrating water tank, propane, diesel heater heater fuel level, and a few other things.
