That's the problem with sla/agm, their tolerance for depth of discharge is poor compared to li-ion types. Inverters' protection circuits are designed to warn you and/or shut off before the battery is too deeply discharged. When you say the battery was at 3/4 capacity, what was the voltage?

They are, until you consider the convenience of the packaging. However, I'd rather build my own, as that gives me more control over the components.

I had a 91 s10 blazer, but it was only 2wd. I also took it everywhere it should not have been. I got it covered in so much mud that a few car washes told me they couldn't wash her for fear of clogging their drains. Worse, I had to show up at a wedding w/ my muddy blazer. My GF at the time was...
I think QF are fine for temporary storage outside the vehicle, as others have mentioned, when I'm not using the gear, I'll remove them from the truck, though I've left my shovel on my rack for over a year now...

NP. It's tempting to just look at the initial cost difference, but all things considered, pennies saved upfront can add up to huge replacement costs in other equipment.
MSWI do serve a purpose, but if you want to run expensive hardware/tools, it doesn't really make sense to be penny wise, but...
I was out camping w/ friends in the GWNF, when I locked myself out of my 91 Blazer. I broke the small panel window on the rear passenger door thinking, it was the smallest piece, therefore the cheapest. Turns out it was the most expensive.
Another stupid thing I've done was to leave the car...
Well, the other advantage to PSWI is cleaner power, all devices run better and cooler. PSW is what comes out of your wall. TVs definitely run better on PSWI, less background noise. With MSWI, you'll see and hear noise from the 'dirtier' power.
There are decently priced PSWI products out there...
Glenn - Curious why you chose a modified sine wave inverter over a pure sine wave inverter. Aside from cost, I can't think of any reason not to go with a pure sine inverter.
Love my Fiskars splitting axe. I have the hatchet & pick as well. I've been meaning to pick up their maul, but my friend/neighbor always brings his, so I don't really need one.

I've got one in my basement that I rarely use, but it reminded me there are cheaper wheeled options to the Pelican. I have a huge 1690 I bought from a friend. Funny thing is, I haven't really put it to use yet, partly because it's so big. That was the reason he got rid of it. I may end up doing...
Glenn-here are some more wheeled case options

He did a great job w/ the fit and finish. Looks like a real finished product, in some ways, nicer than the LFPs.
Another option to consider is use a cheap marine battery case, but add Anderson ports so they would be gangable. Marine battery cases are abundant in the sub $20 range...

You can find the 1440s for under 150. Anther case manufacturer that's decent and less expensive is Plano. If you're thinking two batteries, have you seen this build? He uses a large Plano storage w/ 2 55AH, but I think it may fit two 100 AH.
