What size, I.e., how many people? I love my Oztent RV4. Oz makes all different sizes of tents & awnings. http://www.oztent.us/tents
There's a thread on RTT vs. ground tent you may want to check.

My parents took us camping when we were wee lads, then, in my teens, my friends & I got into dirt bikes, hunting & fishing. After college, my overlanding tapered off, except the occasional mountain biking or ski trip.
Funny thing is, most of my "overlanding" was done in cars & minivans. My...
LOL! If I had my LWB, it wouldn't be an issue. I thought about a Frontrunner slimline for the SWB, but I prefer the cage of the ARB, so I have to either position the Oz diagonally, or inclined over the rear cage, not a huge issue...

I strap it down on the roof rack. I have an RV-4, which only fits diagonally in my ARB rack. I have to pack most other things at an angle as a result.

Woke up at camp in Teddy Roosevelt NP to see huge bison sniffing around my buddy's tent.. thankfully, it lost interest and didn't crush his single man tent...

Welcome! As for Defenders, you can always import a D that's older than 25 years for a reasonable price. Perenties & Tithonus trucks can easily found for less than 20k USD.

Cooper ST/ Maxx or STT, the former being less aggressive, but both super quiet on pavement, while very good off-road & in snow. They're also stud-able.

I remember first seeing limb risers on Camel Trophy rigs and wondered what that was all about, even saw a guy standing on a wing holding on to a riser to keep that side down, like a sailor on a catamaran on a trapeze line. Years later, I found out their true purpose. Don't see many risers on the...
For NoVA, 2nd & 3rd Thurs are filled by MAOS meet&greet & Defendersource hh .
I'm sure there are other brand specific meet ups.
Funny thing about MAOS is that's the FB overland group that introduced a few of us to OB back in the founder days. They've grown beyond the mid Atlantic, while OB is...
At this point, it's a question of judgement. There were a limited number of NAS D90s, even fewer NAS D110s. His is a 97, which is the only year w/ auto trans. To find a 97 as clean and solid as Doug's is extremely difficult. I would be more comfortable wheeling a ROW D90, as they are far more...
LOL! The stock tires were 205s and the CT trucks had 215s. 245s seem fat compared to stock, but are really still pizza cutters. I've got Cooper ST/Maxx 245s and love them. Super quiet despite fairly aggressive tread, been great in snow and decent in mud. Only drawback is the weight, they're...
I have the Viair 300. Like the 440, it is only 33% duty, but it works for my rig. It's good for tires up to 33s. The 440 is good for tires up to 37s. If you want 100% duty, the 450 is the way to go in the Viair lineup. I went w/ the 300 because it met the needs of my pizza cutter 245s & was less...
Check the state of your hoses as well. It may be time to replace them as well. If the old ones aren't currently leaking, you'll have spares...
