Dog hair does get everywhere. I use an Orvis dog pad for the rear seat where my Bella used to love. I have a waterproof seat cover on the front passenger seat as well, but she never liked it much, as she’d much rather roam around in back.

Probably not cheaper initially, especially if you go the lithium route, but that’s definitely the better route from an overall perspective, ie, more portable, no noise, etc.

I’d also coat the insides, especially if they’re not sealed box/tubes. Waxoyl/fluid film or something similar is good for this.
My sliders are galvy coated, then painted. As such, it’s susceptible to paint chipping and monitoring gouges in the galvy coating is necessary.
