Oztent Owners, How do you transport?

I have an RV-4 and I often hoist up solo. I basically stand it vertical so one end rests on the roof rack bar, then I lift from the bottom and slide it up and over, using the roof rack bar as a fulcrum. Sometimes I will climb up to the roof rack (my ARB has a steel mesh floor) and reposition...

    AI Image geek-out!

I asked it to draw a 1993 Defender NAS, but it drew a bunch of D90s:

    AI Image geek-out!

Odd, first time, it never rendered, I let it run for days, but today, it did render these fairly quickly:

How long did it take for Copilot to render those? I asked Copilot to do the same with my Range Rover Classic, and it's still rendering after 4 hrs...

Are Canvas Tents Suitable for Overlanding?

Love our OZ RV-4. It really does setup quickly, though the claim is less than 30 seconds. If you don't count setting up the guy lines and canopies, I can see how that claim can be true. The ability to link up tents and expand is also nice. Packing up is quick too, but I guess it's really...

    Amazon LifePo4 batteries

Actually, there are a lot of good deals this time of year. I just picked up a LiFePO4-based Jackery for a good deal, Renogy has an up to 50% sale on some stuff...

    Amazon LifePo4 batteries

I'd be wary of LiFePO4s from Amazon that seem too cheap. I'd stick with known entities like Battleborn or Renogy if you're in the US. There are a couple of reliable brands in other parts of the world, like Oz, but I can't recall the names...

Can we now just go back to just calling it “car camping”?

Pretty funny... Some gems: Vanlifer - Owns a bidet that shoots coffee instead of water Jeeper - Only parks on curbs Fordie - Spends 40% of his income on gas Roverhead - As rich as he is dumb

The Big Decision, RTT or Ground Tent

I have the RV-4, it's about 45lbs, but it does fit on my ARB roofrack, though I have to put it in diagonally if I want it to lay flat in the rack. It's definitely not a backpacking tent...

The Big Decision, RTT or Ground Tent

OzTents make ground tent setups and breakdowns really quick and easy. An additional benefit is that it reduces the center of gravity when it's not on the vehicle. That alone is worth going with a ground tent over an RTT. OC, if your RTT is on a trailer, the point is moot... Oztent RV5 Canvas...

Small solar trickle charger? please comment if you have experience w/ this!

I'm assuming the Bronco is parked outside? Solar is definitely a good option, if you don't want to mess with routine driving to charge the battery. You can add a charge controller if you're concerned about overcharging. Otherwise, use a smart charger to trickle charge. Only issue with smart...
