Thanks Glen, it's a wild ride (literally). Excited for you both. Hope your retirement years are the best yet. Sky's the limit my friend. Get out and explore. ~ Eric
@ChepoCDT and his band of merry men are the real deal. We had a blast with them in Mexico. And you are right my friend, this is what OB is (or should be) all about. So thankful to @Michael and @Corrie for putting this together. ~ Eric, Brittany, and Caspian
Hi Aaron,
We're Eric, Brittany, and Caspian Highland. We've been fulltime travelers for quite some time. We'll be starting 7th year without home or property in 2020. And we're doing it with a toddler in tow now. Your OP sounds like exactly where we were when we first started this crazy life...
Great question. I know it looks like the stock carrier, but it is not and I DEFINITELY would not recommend that you use this tank and/or an oversized tire on the stock tailgate. The tire carrier we use is the TeraFlex JK Alpha Hinged Tire Carrier and I wrote an article on this carrier if you...
We'll be headed to Baja in 2020 for about 2 months. During that time we're doing a 2 week trip with other overlanders March 14-29th.
Should be a good time. More Mexico goodness on the horizon. ~ Eric, Brittany, and Caspian
Happy to do it, and yes, we're a little surprised that it all fits into the Jeep too. Part of my philosophy for Jeep overlanders is to stop buying camping gear, and start buying backpacking gear. For so many reasons. I wrote an article about the obstacles we need to overcome as Jeep Overlanders...
It is about 100 lbs full. You definitely need to upgrade the tire carrier. For the Jeep JKU the TeraFlex JK Alpha Hinged Tire Carrier is what we use and can more than handle this weight plus up to a 37 series spare in addition. Wrote an article about the tire carrier here: Teraflex Tire Carrier...
Sorry for the delayed reply Roy, we've been traveling. So it is grounded by a ground wire directly to the vehicle. You can read more about our thoughts on this tank on an article I wrote here: Titan Fuel Tank Trail Trekker II
Here's a photo from that article. Hope that helps. ~ Eric
So for FUEL we think this tank is superior to Rotopax. I wrote an article about it here: Titan Vs Rotopax
As far as how it has performed over time, in a word fantastic. It is really nice to be able to add over a half tank of fuel in 6 minutes out off grid. We've used it quite a bit because we...
I'd been looking for one concise list of all the major overland related events, rallies and expos of 2020. Didn't find one that had them in date order, so I created one.
If you'd like to read it, here is the link to the article: Overland Events 2020.
We'll be at Overland Expo West, Mountain...
Hoping you've had all your questions answered. I just saw this.
Our little traveling companion has been a fulltime traveler since birth. We've been in subfreezing temperatures and desert heat. The most important thing is to make sure the little one is hydrated in both situations.
As far as...
We're on our 6th year of fulltime travel. Because of this, our list is going to be more extensive than most. But one of the questions we get asked most frequently is what all we carry. This is a list I wish we'd had when we first started overlanding. Hope it is helpful to others.

Sorry for the really late invite. But on the off chance anyone is remotely near Bridgeport, NY and wants to run with us. We have 8 rigs going on a weekend trip. Hit me up with a private message on Jeepsies Facebook Page, Instagram, or Twitter for details. I apologize for not having posted this...
Which one do you use? Inquiring minds want to know. I was in the USCG for 20 years, so I'm right there with you. But I'm curious as to your small aid kit of choice Ghost.
That is great advice Ghost! We've had similar things happen on backpacking trips away from our rig with our 2 year old. We echo your advice for sure. Thanks for adding that. ~ Eric aka Jeepsies
Can't recommend Sea to Summit Gear highly enough when it comes to bowls and such. Just a thought. They compress really well, are super lightweight and durable. But expensive. Don't need to have it, but it's nice to have, and no I'm not sponsored by them haha.
This post is specifically for those new to the overlanding lifestyle. There are a lot of new members here in the forums and OB is growing fast!
Welcome to all of the new Overland Bound members!
I recently wrote an article about what you really "need" to go overlanding. It is one of the...
