Your truck is looking awesome. I dig those tires.
The dark crow designs place makes front bumpers too. I'm bearish on the terrafirma ones. If I had a do over, I'd do RTE or Dark Crow or Tactical Rovers.
I'm actually looking at swapping out my rear bumper for a custom built one by stellar...
Thank you! I’d highly recommend the sliders. Dark crow designs out of Ohio. He makes them rounded or squared off. If you’re willing to do the priming and painting yourself, it’s a way to save a bit over the tactical rovers(which I really wanted) or RTE ones. It’s a physical install, but once you...
They are extremely heavy (about 60-70 pounds a piece) but I love them. Painted them with raptor liner. Here are some photos I sent to the guy that made them:
Oh man, that's like trying to decide between Catholicism and Judaism - good luck.
As for the highway, it's not as noisy as I would have thought with the tires (the Cooper STT Pros are surprisingly quiet), but between the tires and the rack and lights, it's pretty loud wind-wise. It gets blown...
I’ve read that about the terrafirma lifts, but to date, I’ve had no issues and 2” has functionally performed fine for me.
I went with a 2” over a 3” as it was one of the first mods I made. I read the 3” required new brake lines and potentially gearing, and I didn’t have much experience working...
Enjoy it. Get lucky8 on speed dial. Assuming you’ve replaced all fluids to begin with, I recommend starting with a new front drive shaft and following some of the videos from Atlantic British to get going with the suspension, hd steering rods and dampener and tires and bumpers.
After burning a hole in my north face shell on the y-pipe reaching up to lock the diff by hand, I finally broke down and got and installed a cdl linkage:
As usual, nothing about the process was simple for me, but it was fun. Pretty sure I got a sinus infection from breathing 15 year old dust...
Question to the fellow disco owners out there - would it be idiotic to mount the hi-lift on the hood with the 4xrac attachments as I’ve seen on some Range Rover classics? I’ve currently got it in the floorboard of the second row seats, but with kids looking for a place outside that isn’t the...
Thank you! I took out the jump seat on the left and kept the one on the right. Hidden from these photos are the two car seats in the back seat. The right jump seat is our CYA if a grandparent comes in town! Look forward to dropping it as the kids grow...
Got around to building out rear storage. Like the dropdown table, used a sheet of 6061 aluminum sheet covered in bedliner, than built the frame using eztube tube and connectors. Starting to swear by this stuff.
Designed with a slight offset to fit two front runner boxes underneath on the right...
Does anyone have a recommendation for a rust preventing undercoat for the frame / underbody? Trying to decide between POR 15, 3M Rubberized Undercoat, Waxoyl, and Fluid Film.
Thanks!
